Bungie Community Battlefield 3 Server
I am somewhat unsure where this thread best belongs, but seeing as this is a Bnet Community related post:
I was just thinking about the new rent a server option for console [url=http://blogs.battlefield.com/2012/03/ps3-update-live/][link][/url]. The update for Xbox 360 isn't out yet, but it should be soon and should include the same options. Basically you pay to rent a server for up to 90 day blocks for about a dollar a day. (unless you only rent for 1 day. I believe there is already a Bungie PC server for BF3)
Anyways if you haven't guessed it at this point, I am suggesting we as a community open up our own server or 2 for community gaming events such as the community carnage, or even the next community pentathlon. I know BF3 was a big want in the last one but trying to organize a game on public servers would have been foolish.

I have just discovered that I can sport a server banner. Since this server is for community use the Bungie Community or Bungie logo would suffice but I need permission from Bungie. So Bungie if you are reading we can has?

You really would have hated it when I accidentally set the tickets for 500%. I will lower the ticket percentage for today due to my alternating rush/conquest rotation. Starting on Monday we are shifting towards all conquest. Trends are favoring long lasting epic battle type maps with a lot of vehicles and high EXP earning games. The tickets will remain at 200% for those games.

I enjoyed the server though even if I only recognized one person on it. I'll play on it a lot more if my connection would stop disrupting mid-game.

Grim, I'm recommending you lower the tickets for Rush slightly. It's really hard to win as defenders on larger maps with the current amount of tickets. Something in between the normal and current amount of tickets would do nicely, I think.

Sounds good. The server is going really well. We've had a full match almost since launch.

We can't just go off sporting copyrighted material.[/quote]I would make the portion about it in the OP more noticeable. Like at the top in a text box (until it's resolved, of course). Otherwise a Bungie Employee is more likely to glaze over both it and your first post about it on the last page. It could only increase your likelihood of receiving a response. [/quote]I would like this....sadly you guys seem to have a habit of setting the dates to ones that I am busy on......hopefully we can get some in at the end of the week. The people running these servers should get organized in a Private Group and structure some quality game nights among the Bungie.net community. Nice initiative. Make sure you get the most out of the extra money you are spending.

If so, that leaves us with 3 servers... More if that's not the other thread. ...There is only one solution. A game on conquest between each of the 3 servers against one another. IE: A vs. B, B vs. C, and A vs. C. The server with the most wins will be crowned the official b.net server. The losers will be exiled. Or we could just have all 3 exist and not worry about it.

I would assume we would use both. The community is large after all and multiple servers=multiple lobbies. 1 Server=alot of disappointed members who weren't able to be the first poster at the announcement of the new carnage. Also while I do update this thread the some basic server details. I accept all community ideas as to what our primary games, maps, and rules should be. Also all Bungie community is welcome a free customary VIP slot in my server as well if they post their Gamertags. However as far as organization. The mains is a great place for basic discussion of the Servers where people can find out about their existence. I believe the Ninjas and the Webteam would agree its organization should remain confined to the private chapters. As you know my Server is being organized and maintained in the Bungie Community Army, and I believe Community Carnage has also partnered with them for its integration into the Community Carnage. No server is official.

I just discovered room for a custom banner on the server. I figured since I bought this server for community use the Bungie Community Logo or Bungie logo would be sufficient. However I need permission from Bungie before proceeding. I could also put a disclaimer in the server description if needed. If we can't use it anybody good with photoshop can simply make one. 1.Must be 512px x 128px 2.Must be of type JPEG 3.File size is under 500kB [Edited on 04.05.2012 5:34 PM PDT]

Server has been updated to 4 V 4 Juggernaut Deathmatch. Players have high bullet damage. Server usage is low and I have received little suggestions. Server named changed to BNG Community Server. I was going to use Bungie but Bungie is considered "profanity" by EA regulations lol.
