•
Posted by: GeneralKenobi I think Cario Station was the hardest level on Legendary, the first time I beat it I was so relieved and excited! But the only skull I ever got was the Blind Skull on the first New Mombassa level.
arguable, it was more of a routine level: crouch, charge pistol, up, fire, crouch, switch weapons, up, BR headshot (repeat 30 times) the beginning of Gravemind was an absolute shocker

  • Yeah, I did it after killing the others. I'm usually able to get one while he is facing away, but that's it. I have to do it the old fashion way for the rest.

  • Here's that video I wanted to post. Cursed quality problems... :/
Posted by: InvasionImminent A lot of people say using a sword is impossible over there and that I get lucky or I'm lying, but the Zealot-bodyguards are hesitant to shoot if you are near them.
Did you do this after killing the other Elites? And were they facing away from you? I got assassinations on them in the video above because they weren't facing me.
Posted by: InvasionImminent Just my two cents, but the hardest part of Cairo Station is after you get past the armory.
Agreed.

  • A lot of opinions crowding Cairo Station. I personally find that taking the sword form the first hangar battle makes dealing the next hangar battle much easier against the Zealot-bodyguards. I'm a close range type of guy so I tend to do better over in these parts. A lot of people say using a sword is impossible over there and that I get lucky or I'm lying, but the Zealot-bodyguards are hesitant to shoot if you are near them. Just watch out for the Zealot himself. He tends to charge as soon as possible, so stick him just a little after you have engaged the bodyguards. Just my two cents, but the hardest part of Cairo Station is after you get past the armory.

  • It is odd how I enjoy the hangar battles yet have an extremely frustrating time with the battles up to the bomb room, which I also enjoy. Imo, the worst part of CS has to be the second encounter with the Elite Rangers (right before the bomb room). The noob combo seems to be the only way to kill these freaking Elites. Elite Rangers piss me off so much...
Posted by: Wilis_kid Nope, every hit counts. You've really got to be tactical which makes for an interesting experience, with grenades being thrown slower and not as far, jump height reduced and movement speed etc. It's fun on Easy/Normal/Heroic but Legendary is a pain even on Co-op. The Hanger part on Cairo just is too darn difficult without regen health. Black Eye doesn't work either...darn Marines.
Sounds like hell. I'd be up for it (on Normal or lower. I'm not crazy) if I knew how to swap Chief with a marine. [Edited on 03.16.2012 10:07 PM PDT]
Posted by: Sliding Ghost [redacted] I got a much better attempt now which I'll be uploading shortly. Not a sweat this time. Ditched the BR for the pistol as soon as the Grunts were all dead. And the best part? Caught both Ultra Elites looking away and assassinated them.
Posted by: Wilis_kid On a side note, I tried doing this as a Marine, it's damn near impossible. I'd even go as far as saying it's harder than SLASO...
Do marines have recharging health?
Nope, every hit counts. Meleeing enemies may make them turn around, which makes for easy assassinations against Elites.

Kill a grunt with frag's or Plasma's quickly from up high, take the plasma pistol then fall back to cover behind the boxes on the lower level. You can attempt to climb back up top by getting on the Pelican. You'll get the hang of it eventually. On a side note, I tried doing this as a Marine, it's damn near impossible. I'd even go as far as saying it's harder than SLASO... [Edited on 03.16.2012 4:31 PM PDT]

  •
Posted by: Mark V guy Ok guys i got to the second hanger and i followed all your steps and i cannot do it. My BR is out and all i am left with is 3 plasma pistols and a pistol. I cant do ot, whenever i peak out to combo one elite my shields are instantly depleated
Did you have a BR with at least 72 ammo when you got the cp? And did you use the spare BR near the machine gun and the spare BR in the room on the right? Pistol huh? In that case, I suggest conserving BR ammo and using it only on Grunts. The pistol is more useful for noob combo here. I'll get a video up showing how.

  • Here's my strategies for Cairo Station first and second hangars + extras.
Posted by: MisguidedDrake4 I'd say that the best strategy for the first Hangar is to dual-wield juggle 2 or 3 plasma pistols through the door and onto the catwalk with you. I used the big green crate for cover and popped off grunts one at a time, comboing elites one at a time.
Using the BR on Grunts and grenade sticks on Elites, the first hangar took me very little time compared to when I was noob comboing from the big green crate.
Posted by: MisguidedDrake4 For the second hangar, my strategy is just bringing 3-4 PP's and noob comboing everything at a snail's pace. I literally spent 20 minutes on just that hangar the first time.
I think it's better to be aggressive here. The reason for that is that you have much more marine support and have more safe areas. It's good to keep marines alive at least until the Ultras and Zealot show up as they make great distractions. Also, if you end up facing a lot of Elites at once, there are very few positions that you can get a stick or noob combo from without getting shot down. One such area is here; these 2 small crates provide good cover if Sputnik isn't on. The second hangar took me quite a lot of time (and by that, I mean reverts) but it could have been done much faster. [Edited on 03.16.2012 12:11 AM PDT]

  •
Posted by: Sliding Ghost
Posted by: Grumpy1 Thunderstorm is after the cloaked Elite at the missile room and you go up the steps to the armory. Go into the next room (B.01) and it's above on the platform. That is after the hangers. Edit: Mark should get perma-cammo or he will commit harakiri.
Oh right. It's been a long time since I've played Cairo Station... anyways, I just immersed myself in it and got a quick walkthrough ready which I'll be uploading right now. Halo 2 Legendary is a lot more tolerable than Reach. Although I've had some moments of frustration, that was often because I lost my patience and got demoralized. For now, all I can say is that Mark should be enjoying CS, not merely playing it just to get a skull.
I'd say that the best strategy for the first Hangar is to dual-wield juggle 2 or 3 plasma pistols through the door and onto the catwalk with you. • Now that I think about it, you can take out the Zealot with practically any weapon due to his weak shields.
