Posted by: kylehaloer when does that come out
October 31 this year. btw a few eeks ago I pre-ordered ghosts of coral on amazon.com. Even though the name has changed I'll still get the same book right?
-
when does that come out
-
that other "Spartan" looks sweet!
-
can not wait until this book is released. that cover is amazingly awesome. nice oddball. just glad its not in a thong delivering pizzas.
-
Nice update, I like the book cover.
-
I've never actually said this before, but. . . .I <3 Bungie!
-
that new looking gun kinda looks like a BR without a scope.
-
Is that price going to be the same on the back or is it aslo subject to change?
-
great update (or words to that effect) On the cover, are those all the Spartan armors? Spartan-I, Spartan-II Mark V and Mark Mark VI? how about them weapons. looks cool. the back confused me a bit. 2 arks? nah.

Thank you for the Update. Very informative. I seems that most of the comments on this News artical have been about the cover art and not about the text. I guess we are very picture oriented. ha. Anyway:
Posted by: forerunner120 So basically Kelly along with Catherine and possibly Mendez are training Spartan lll's on Onyx when a structure (possibly the Ark, not likely, but possible) is activated. From what I can tell with the info given it's proabably a weapon but with the name Ghosts of Onyx it may be surviving Forerunners..............
I am thinking it is very likely that the Ark is on Onyx.
Posted by: Chunky_Lover holy crap the ark might be on onyx and the arbiter and miranda keyes + johnson might meet up with the new spartans or the ark might be the big thing opening up in the the H3 trailer
My thoughts exactly (except for the Italic text)
Posted by: mr turret onyx is earth
I seriously doubt it. Read the back cover again. Just my opinion. . [Edited on 9/10/2006]

it looks like a bug. or as if the soldier removed his "hat". :p i'm thinking it's just an armour suit, or perhaps just a machine. we'll have to wait to know for sure though... :(
Posted by: Ziewl I'd rather it be an ODST that dies in the first five minutes than a Spartan running around looking like that the whole time. I guess as long as it only appears in the novel I can just pretend it looks how I want it to. Hopefully it doesn't show up in the game/movie as Spartan armor. Mark V and Mark VI look way too badass to be replaced with that armor.
I agree. If it's only in the book I'll just let my imagination handle it.
-
I was just wondering if that is the person that hangs around the Spartans so that the super fast thing doesn't get them? I saw a super scary picture once about this super fast thing. Can't wait for the next week. Shoot ya later.

yeah, feel the same way too, sometimes

Ah, well, I don't want stupid marines working on a top-secret mission in tandem with highly trained Spartans. And yes, I thought of exoskeletons as being more mech-like as well in my vision of them. (Too lazy to get up and flip through book) [Edited on 9/9/2006]
-
The armour is either Mjolnir class Mark 1-IV armour, or special armour designed for marines... Given time, I'm sure the Oni techies would find some way to iron out the bugs of Non-"spartanized" humans to operate Mjolnir armour Doubtfull they'd make new armour for spartans look that off sequence In reply to above: There's no way it could be those exoskeletons.. those things were 15ish feet tall and had built in weapons (sort of like a Mech)... MC is only 9ish feet, I believe [Edited on 9/9/2006]

When I first saw the different armor, I thought that it was maybe an Exoskeleton. That's the armor developed before Mjolnir that required a constant power source from somewhere on the battlefield,(that MC and a few other spartans totally owned on in a training exercise In the Fall of Reach novel) Maybe there aren't enough Spartan's so they're throwing the best marines into an exoskeleton. I don't remember if that's the actual name for the armor though...
-
Chances are, and I'm almost 100% positive that the other wierd looking Spartan was a Spartan-III.
-
The more I look at it, the more I see it, though like 109028 that many people have said this already. The dude in the Front looks like the, what, Mark V? The armor in Halo. The dude in the back looks like the Mark VI armor, used in Halo 2. The other armor, which I actually like, looks older, like Mark III armor or something. Looks tight all together. Leaves a lot for the mind to ponder. I also think pics in the book would look tight. Like, have you ever read a novel that was written from a movie? You know how in the middle they put in like 10 pages of color pics? I think that would be tight to put in the book. It could be some cool art dipicting battles or armor or what not.

that new book sounds sexy

Frankie, that Mister Chief is the Awesome. Nicely done. Oh, and you really went off on that writing. LOVE IT. 4+ years later and I'm still reading your stuff.

Sweet can't wait for the book to release so i can get it!!!. Eric Nylund is an amazing writer. I have a question though, will William C. Dietz be writing any more Halo books? His book was also truely amazing.
