Mass Effect 3 preorders cancelled?
So, about a week before the release of the highly anticipated mass effect 3, it's withdrawn.
I walked into my local Gamestation with my friends and asked if they will be doing a midnight release for Mass Effect 3. The answer was no, and the manager told me the are no longer stocking the game at all. My deposit would be refunded in the form of a voucher for the store. The other store in my town (Game) is doing the same.
Not only am I annoyed because I preordered a few months back, but I had £50 saved on a reward card specifically for this game (which CANNOT be used online or anywhere else). So, about a week before the release of the highly anticipated mass effect 3, it's withdrawn. :C
So until they start stocking again, I won't be purchasing this game. If they do, I won't be eligible for any pre-order bonuses, which sucks too.
Is this a national thing (I'm from the UK)? HAs this happened to anyone else? I'm really confused at the moment.

Oh, OK. So, from what I read, Game has been doing poorly financially and can't front the money needed to buy and resell the games. EA has elected not to give them the games to sell, and then split the profits afterwards. EA is concerned that Game may not be solvent to keep its games on the shelf reliably.

Funnily enough, I preordered ME3 online at GAME.co.uk yesterday because the preorder bonus was better than the amazon one. Checked my emails earlier today and I found out that they'd cancelled my preorder. Amazon it is.

I am in a similar situation, I traded in several games to gamestation to get enough credit for mass effect 3, now I know my money is worthless until they get some pre-owned copy's, which they will probably overprice anyway. This is not the first time Gamestation have let me down, twice Iv had pre-ordered copies of my game given to a different person, and I had to wait several weeks before been given my bayonetta gun after I purchased the game on launch day. Needless to say, I will be taking my business online from now on.

I strongly recommend anyone whose preorder has been cancelled to use the store credit ASAP, If EA are not giving GAME stock, it means EA is unsatisfied GAME can pay them for it. Add to that the fact GAME is not giving cash refunds but store credit... writing on the wall here is cash flow problems at GAME. If you don't use your credit soon, there's a solid chance you won't see it again.

I had saved up about £50 worth of store credit on a trade-in card, and that's how I planned to buy me3. Since I can't afford to pay £40/£60 out of my pocket, I won't be able to. My only chances are to spend all my credit on ms points and then sell them for slightly less on eBay, then use that paypal to buy online.

I just got an email from gamestation saying they will give me £5 in-store credit and a full refund of my preorder. Still doesn't make up for it. :( Do you they will be able to stock it again in the near future? Or should I spend all of my in-store credit and reward points while I can?
