Halo ODST sucks!

Just bought my pre-ordered copy of ODST tonight. Picked it up at 12:22 am and quickly drove it home to play. Already had friends lined up to do 4 player co-op. $60.00 for 3 new multiplayer maps that will be free in another 2 months, and a 5 hour campaign... That doesn't sound good I thought, but then this is Halo and we have all of the previous titles and loved each one. That list includes Halo Wars... Therefore I thought that this one has to be good. Long story short, the 4 of us all agreed that this is a terrible game which is chock full of shortcuts and unpolished hogwash. I plan to take my copy back to the store when it opens for my money back! Bungie - This is not worth $60.00 - not even close. This is a crappy game and that is coming from a Halo-fanboy. You guys lost a customer tonight. I won't buy another one of your titles. I am extremely disappointed by this game.

 •
Posted by: TheEasy1JM It is unbelievable to think that we waited so long for them to deliver a terrible game like that.
I can understand where you're coming from. ODST didn't deviate very much from Halo other than in concept, story, music, and minor gameplay changes. The stamina was the same thing as shields. ODSTs were on par with Spartan IIs: could use support weapons, take some damage, take down Scarabs, pilot Banshees. And the silenced weapons really weren't silenced. And it was made to appear like an open-world campaign. It's not actually open-world; the lack of vehicles other than Mongoose and Ghost should have been a sign that vehicles were getting the lesser priority treatment in Bungie's next game. The only noticeable differences from H3: most weapons got buffed, most weapons had recoil, getting meleed pushed you back, AI were wielding weapons they previously didn't, enemies don't drop equipment, a few AI behavior changes The only thing that ODST brought from other games had to be that annoying screen thing that impedes our view and more noticeable first person cutscenes. Both I hated, but not necessarily in ODST (Reach was worse regarding the latter). That doesn't mean ODST was a complete failure. It returned to H2's my-weapon-in-cutscene-instead of pos AR, except in vehicle form. If you were in a Ghost or Chopper and triggered the cutscene, instead of the hog, the cutscene would show you in your vehicle. And it brought one of the best pistols I've ever used in a Halo game. The only problem was ammo shortage (though this could have been because I loved using it too much) and less shield damage. SMG felt great to use too and I love the shiny gold Hunters. We need more shiny enemies in Halo. The dullness must die. [Edited on 05.28.2012 4:58 PM PDT]
