Why does the app crash, on my iPad 2? Will not launch app...

The reviews for this game, are amazing, but it keeps crashing on me... I would love to play it, but for some reason, it's not working. I have a iPad 2, with the latest 4.3.5 iOS. When I click on the app, it quickly brings me back to the home screen... I have uninstalled the app, reinstalled, but did not work. Plus, I have done a hard reset, holding the Home & Power button. Nada... Please Help!

 • Mine plays fine up until Chapter 1 "Confederate Gold" when I Anchor onto the base for hand to hand battle. Sometimes it gets into the choose your combatants menu and then goes black and back to the home screen after I choose combatants, and sometimes it goes black and to the home screen once I Anchor onto the base. Any answer for this one? I'm really getting tired of doing the same things over and over again. Like the game but not going to buy anything if it keeps crashing like this. Oh, and I also have the Original iPad. [Edited on 09.30.2011 3:36 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: BeersYourFriend I fixed the crash issue, and wait till you hear this! There was a game that was causing crashing problems. So, they told me to (Change your language to anything but English), then start the app. Well it worked! So, I did the same thing with Crimson. Changed the language to Spanish, and it finally opened up!!! Then, once the app is open, you change the language back to English. Your all set! I really hope this helps anyone, who is having issues as well... I hope Bungie reads this, and add it to their main FAQ page!!! Thanks for all the help, Matt
I've personally have not had the problem, but I know many people have. It's good to know a possible solution to help other people out.

 • I had the same crashing issue, with MetalStorm, that popular jet fighting game... So, I had to get in touch with customer support, and that's what they said to try. It worked! I guess some iPads have this problem. Thanks!

Did you find out why language had anything to do with it? I never heard changing your language on your iPad could do anything. That's funny. Well glad you got it working. And glad to help.

 • Did anyone read my description, stating that I hooked it up to my iTunes PC? I uninstalled the app from iTunes, redownloaded it, then put it back on my iPad. All through iTunes. I did a Hard Reset, and closed all running apps in the background. Still nothing... Man, this is really annoying... Ok, I'll try backingup everything, then do a restore. Sucks that I have to go to these lengths, just to get this game going. If anyone has another suggestion, please send some feedback. Thanks! [Edited on 09.05.2011 3:31 PM PDT]

 • OP you need to plug in your iPad to your computer, back up every file on your iPad through iTunes. Hit restore and then resync your iPad.

 •
Posted by: Duardo OP, do you by chance have a jailbroken device? Also, If I were you I'd kill all of my running apps (double-click home button, then hold down the icons to kill the apps), then restart my device, then try to open up Crimson. If it doens't start, kill the app, then try again (without restarting).
Posted by: BRADEN OWNZ The home and power button at the same time results in your ipad making a screen capture ( pics only). Plug your iPad into your computer and install updates given that there are any available, back up the app on your PC/Mac then sync your iPad. I have the iPad original.
If you hold them both down you can reset the device.
Really? Didn't know that. There is no Jail break for that firmware version currently that I'm aware of.

 • Hmmmmmmmm. My last piece of advice is to try installing the app on your computer instead of on your iPad, if you did install it on your computer before then, then try it the other way. Otherwise I have no idea why this is happening. And yes, I have the iPad 2 and everything's working fine. I'm sure it's not your iPad, it's most likely the game, and I'm pretty sure they'll fix it in the future. So don't panic.

I have no idea what the problem is?=(
He clearly stated his problem.?
I know. He gave me the problem and I did not know what was wrong.
Obviously, the thing that's wrong is that his app is crashing, adversely to what it should be doing; which is working properly and NOT crashing.

 • I tried clearing out the running apps, and still cannot open it... I did do a hard reset, hooked it up to my computer, to uninstall. Then tried reinstalling, but didn't work. It's really strange! There are about 45 bad reviews, and I'm unfortunately one them... Are guys playing it, on an iPad 2? Thanks for the feedback!

 • Try checking your memory and make sure that Crimson can fit on your iPad, if that's not the problem, try deleting some of your current running apps, maybe you have a lot of apps running and it's overloading your iPad. If you don't know what that is, double tap your home button and a list of apps will pop up, when that happens, tap and hold on any app in that list until they start shaking and get rid of all of them. What that does is basically officially closing the app and stop it from running all the time in your iPad. Hopefully this helped.
