EB Games -blam!- suck!
I went and bought Battlefield 2 3 days ago, after playing its Single Player, why? Because even though this game is brought to life with its online play, I had no online play at all, there were only 10-15 working servers all full or has a lock. I couldnt play 1 game with anyone, so I played single, its pretty fun, except theres no point besides capture the flag, kill, and etc. I went back to EB Games to tell them i want to trade it in, they said sure as long as the manuel, the disc are all in mint condition, of course, me being a game fanatic all ym games are in mint condition.
So I go back and gave it to them and told the lady that everythings fine, she checked it, accepted thaty its all in mint condition, and told me I couldnt pick out a new game, while I was picking out a new game she told me that it had zero value, yes, a game they sold for 50 bucks has ZERO value, so here I am stuck with oen of the most useless games in my collection, its a good game, unless online play is not an option.
has this ever happened to you? being ripped off by a store... Hell, being ripped off in general?

Its probably the patch, thanks for the help. Oh they also said that it was worth with ZERO value because they discontinued the production ofthe game.. Apparently they sell them for 50 and get them for free... Like Yoozel said, people are money hungry.

I currently have the 1.4 Beta #2, and there are only 5 servers up at the moment, but the patch is [i][b]EXCELLENT[/i][/b]. Have you patched the game yet? There have been multiple patches that have come out, and if you install them, there should be more server options. As far as being able to create your own server, unless you have a top of the line computer, it wouldn't be able to handle running a server.

Oh and with patch 1.3 you will get 4,000+ servers with 1.4 BETA 2 you will get 15+...

I have never gotten a full error server. Unless you're talking about the one for the original xbox.

My brother went to the local Game store, and traded in Battlefield 2 and got 15 bucks store credit, when he bought the game there almost brand new for about 35 or 40 dollars. Like Yoozel said...people are money hungry.

Ofcourse they'd never take back a used pc game. Chances are its been burnt and distributed to all you friends. I'm going out for lunch now people. As I live in New Zealand, and its lunchtime here. Goodbye.

I know why it has zero value: they no longer sell used PC games. Any stores that have some left are selling them for $.01 now. BF2 is a pretty fun game in multiplayer, I am planning on buying Special Forces next week for $8 at Circuit City since it's $20 everywhere else and I've been wanting it for a while. EDIT: Gamestop has never dealt in used PC games. I would take the game back to a different EB with the receipt and say it doesn't work. That might work in getting your full value back. After all, it is true that the online doesn't work much. [Edited on 7/20/2006]

That's really the only downside to buying it for PC. But once you get it patched there shuld be hundreds if not thousands of servers to play on. =) Oh and by the way, trade in stuff at Gamestop, they give tons more money thatn EB Games. I once traded in a GBA SP and some games for it and at EB it was worth only $20, when at Gamestop it was worth $60. =P[/quote] Exactly! You didn't bother patching it to 1.3, or if you did patch it, either your server filters were in the wrong configuration or you patched it to the 1.4 Beta, which I am currently using.

Sad news people... EB Games and Gamestop are now owned by the same company... hah! Regardless... how companies trade in games is absolutely ridiculous. Three games (probably bought when they were new... $150 dollars + tax) for one that is worth from 50-70 is garbage... the only logic behind this policy is money, good game...
