UPDATE: A new Gamespot article is up about Destiny.
Note: For moderately related info on the new IP's plot, check this out.
Today, this: (SORRY. This link will get split when posted, and I can't do anything about it, go through the HBO link) https://fortress.wa.gov/dol/dolprod/bpdLicenseQuery/lqsLicenseDetail.aspx?RefID=672307 was posted on HBO.
What do you guys think of Aerospace now? It doesn't seem to be a new game, but instead a branch of Bungie or maybe even a platform like Steam community.

UPDATE:
Bungie Aerospace Corp. has trademakred Crimson
EDIT: My stupid iPhone spell check keeps putting in "cooperation."

Wow, this is terrible. :(
-
Awesome!
-
It's hard to tell if any of these trademarked names are not just Aerospace games.
-
Posted by: Imfrikinbad Anyone think that Mission Icefly has anything to do with this?
With Aerospace? Probably not. Urk already said Icefly has nothing to do with Bungie. Crimson? Maybe but it would certainly shock me.

Well then, this explains a lot! I suppose that several of the new trademarks are Aerospace titles. I wonder, though, which ones are Aerospace and which ones are part of the new IP.
Posted by: justindana Okay okay okay... Jordan Weisman is involved! No confirmation of Crimson Skies related property though. Okay, done tooting my own horn... Source: http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&link=bungie_aerospace http://www.bungie.net/projects/aerospace/
Posted 5/11/11 by: justindana The first thing I thought of was Crimson Skies... the great original Xbox Live (launch?) title & popular PC title. Then you start looking at the parallels, the coincidences and the connections...
The name "Aerospace" and the main setting & theme of Crimson Skies? The company that created Crimson Skies was FASA who's roots are in Chicago. But they were bought by and controlled by Microsoft. Sound familiar? Guess who else originally hails from Chicago? Yes, Bungie. FASA's founder, Jordan Weisman now has created a new company (Smith & Tinker) and secured shared control of the Crimson Skies IP (licensed from Microsoft). The company is in Bellevue literally down the street from the also once Microsoft-owned Bungie in Kirkland. Think some of these guys run in the same game circles? Back to Jordan Weisman, creator of Crimson Skies... he also founded 42 Entertainment, the creator of the Halo 2 ARG "ilovebees". Oh, and he also founded another company (Fyreball) with Pete Parsons who some may remember as "Mango"... a rather well known Bungie employee. That company is now called Meteor Solutions... Anyway lots of parallels and coincidences and connections. Just thought it was quite interesting... call me crazy.

-
Posted by: F0r3s7 Perhaps Bungie is going to start publishing games under this title?
I doubt it. That's what the 10-Year Douchyvision deal is for.

Cortana, you may find this a little interesting. [Edited on 06.28.2011 6:38 AM PDT]

While it can be a good idea, it isn't the only option, and it's not always the best option.
Posted by: Dragon Sage Sorry but adding to the same universe is a good idea. Look at star wars, its been what, nearly 40 years and its still going strong, Halo is like star wars. Halo even after 10 years is still original and no franchise has tried very hard to copy Halo, just its popularity. COD wont be around much longer.
I agree that it has something to do with their world domination plan. The only step left is take over world, shoot enemies into the sun with a giant slingshot.I think they are finally initiating the final step, its the slingshot.
-
I just hope it will be something original, not Halo/Crysis/CoD/, something new and unique just like Halo CE was back in the days... Bungies strengths is making new things with no bounds, their weakness is creating new things within the same cannon/environment.
-
Hmm, an MMO FPS. If it's true, I hope it's in a sci-fi setting. I think some people here are forgetting the 7 reasons to celebrate article:
3. Because we're going to tell you, in explicit detail, exactly what Bungie Aerospace is all about.
[Edited on 06.23.2011 11:04 PM PDT]

A MMOFPS. That sounds incredible. So like Starcraft 2, but all played through one person's view.

What does surprise me is that I don't work for them but I feel like I totally get what they're doing O:

"After Bungie Day we'll be going as dark as we've ever been. No Halo news and no Weekly Updates. Not a peep about our next project (though Aerospace, whatever it is, is now all systems go and counting down to launch) for a good, long while." Doesn't sound like we will be hearing about it for quite some time. :)
Posted by: Dunver Aerospace reveal next week or Bungie day?
Oh look, it's CV :O

From the update:
(though Aerospace, whatever it is, is now all systems go and counting down to launch)
Perhaps this is an elaborate scheme to take our attention off of something far more sinister. Like some kind of decoy, to keep us occupied.
