Half a Billion Games Played!
We've surpassed lots of cool numbers in the past, including numbers of total players, hours played and all that stuff, but we thought we'd note that at as of around noon today, a half-billion games of Halo 2 have been played on Xbox Live. That's a lot of games.
To clarify - that's actual games, not player-sessions. That also doesn't include games we lost because the website was down, or through other technical issues. Again, this proves that my scheme to attach Halo 2 sessions to my Paypal account would have been genius.
A half billion! WOW!

How do I know... Maybe because that picture is a poster that came in an issue of OXM when they did all the cover stories on Halo 2 when it first came out....

Halo 3 is supposed to come out in 2007 so that gives us 2 more years. Unproductive? We get rid of stress by simulating shooting a bunch of people. Unless we runinto one of those screaming, cursing ,cheating jerks, then we regain all that stress back.

I read on the first page that someone said can we make a billion. I think it might happen because halo 2 has been out for two years and we made half a billion. I think it depends on how many people switch to halo 3 in 2007 and how many people stick with the original xbox and playy halo 2. Because almost 1/4, i think 1/4, maybe more, plays halo 2 on an xbox 360. i have a 360 but i am addicted to halo and i am a 20 in team slayer, half way to 21. so i am not sure.ut half a billion, AMAZAZING!!!!!!!!! Sweet! We were at 333,333,333 just a few days ago. I'd have to say a lot of this is thanks to the custom games - warthog wars, zombies, assult... the possibilities are endless. That's what I like so much about Halo 2... you can't have Jeep wars in Call of Duty, now can you? Congrats Bungie! :)

Suddenly the number isn't as impressive when you realize that only maybe a 1/16th of those games were fair and complete from start to finish. I'm looking at you modders, standbyers, people that leave your team, people that lag out, and bad connection issues.

i definitely agree with king_of_beavers, he made a good point. Halo 2 really did have potential at first. It looked like it was going to be as good a game, maybe better than Halo CE (one of the best games ever made in its genre), but it seems that bungie had a different idea in the first place for the game...too bad... a half a billion games is a lot. i dont think that will ever be passed unless Halo 3 is as good as everyone makes it out to be.
