New Bungie.net no good....

.....call me blasphemous if you must. I admit I love the look, I love the new stuff, listened to Marty's stuff and wow. But The Underground is so freakin' cluttered. Maybe it will slow down, but I can't find my posts, or more importantly to me, the responses to them. I can't find posts made by people I've learned to respect and enjoy, like Rip, Mak, JoeyD, and many others. On top of that there are just threads upon threads of useless crud...ok, not so much useless...but the same thing over and over. I LOVED the old format of forums, and I'm sure I'll get used to it, but if this kind of thing keeps up, I'll feel really alienated. Everyone belongs to Bungie and it's so awesome to see everyone band together like this, but it is seriously cluttered and impossible to navigate. With only 10 posts a page, I have to sift through 27 pages to find the post I'm looking for, IF I can remember what it was. I found it funny that somebody on the 27th page of posts said that if we kept this rate up we'd have 50 threads and a hundred by the end of the week. The second day we have almost 270, and I'm sure more before Day 3. This organization issue needs to be addressed or it is gonna bring down a lot of long time forum posters. Don't flame me, I love The Underground and want it to work, properly. Just trying to make this Column strong.

 • I agree. The clutter's out of control. (I suggest something more like bzpower's format, with tons of categories to organize topics. It let's you find what you want real fast

 • You know what I noticed....I love bungie. This is like the only company that actually HEARS THEIR OWN FANS IN THE SAME FORUM! This is so cool.

 • Naw, Archanos doesn't take bribes. Achronos might do it though. [Edited on 4/14/2004 6:24:07 PM]

 • Search and tracking of your forum posts.... I think those would be the most welcome options as of late Give it time, and they shall arive... hopefully...Maybe if we throw wads of cash at Archanos it will modivate him to impliment it?

 • It also just takes some getting used to...some things I thought were crap have actually turned out to be useful. I just didn't understand how to use them (ex: nav bar) The forum does need some improvements though. Search...

 • It seems slowly but surely updates will be done to improve the new b.net. You can't get things like this perfect, lots of trial and error involved, and for all I know this is the first relaunch of b.net ever, so they did one hell of a job on it!

 •
Search was a planned feature but didn't make it in this release. It needs lots of testing and such to ensure it doesn't kill performance, yet gives you the right results. It will be added eventually. I'll help test any way I can. (Anything to get my hands on more searching goodness! Bwa haha!)
Same here, Achronos. Anyhting I can do.

 • I agree all they have to do is find a way to combine the new great interface with some type of organization.

 • Search was a planned feature but didn't make it in this release. It needs lots of testing and such to ensure it doesn't kill performance, yet gives you the right results. It will be added eventually. Posts/topics per page also was going to be increased, but a bug in the forum code also prevented this to be fixed. We also plan on fixing this, maybe at the same time as adding search, maybe before or after.

 • Honestly, I think this release of B.net was pretty damn polished. I mean, I have sent in about 3 bugs so far, but that isn't bad. Overall, the functunality is great for a 1.0 release!

 • What you must understand is that there will always be things that need to be fixed so I try to look at the good thing that have been made and improve on those.

 • Well, I meant away with my Underground forum for Bungie employees and certain respected users. I love the new B.net, but there are things that NEED to be fixed. Other than that, that was pretty much a dead on translation.

 • Well, I don't know neanderth- I mean US English, but here's what I tried to make of it: "This may not have been absolutmind's (bowling ball = 343 GS avatar) greatest idea. Since nobody seems to like the new B.net (an untruth; I love it!), they should get rid of it. That is, go back to the old b.net. "Yes, I agree with you, oh Saw which Rips, your Webmaster avatar's usefulness in assisting my keeping track of you knows no bounds. "I am happy that Bungie will be upgrading the site: this is only b.net version 1.0, so I the updated versions will have probably fixed these problems." Was that helpful? - Reiginko

 •
Posted by: absolutmind Ok, so this may not have been this bowling balls shining moment of thought. Since nobody likes it, away with it. Avast ye scarabs! Yes Rip, the usefulness of you Monkey Dude in tracking you is unbelievably astounding. But I'm glad that Bungie is all about upgrading. This is only V. 1.0!
You just confused me all to hell. Could you write that in English, or better yet, American English?
