• Dear Bungie, I think ever thing you did uo to 2 months ago was great. You did a stupid move by getting rid of clan matches. What is the point in having clans if there are no clan matches. I know so many people that would be happy if u got rid of team carnage and bring back clan matches or even 1v1.

 •
Posted by: l Merc l
Posted by: draken dragon i heard, almost a month after halo 2 came out, that there would be a new spartan in the next game.Sapposadly, if you got the limited edition halo 2 there was a letter describing someone who was injured and put in a hospital. Is this truely a new spartan, and if so when will we see him/her?
I think it'd be great to see the other Spartans, like Fred, Will, and Linda (for those readers). But Kelly...no one would get her story if they didn't read the books about how she went with Dr. Halsley.
yea..what ever happened to kelly?

Its on the left. -Aktins Diet Its at 45-51 secs. No one noticed it before.
Yeah i noticed the "F" the first time I was starting to look for eggs on tuesday.
wait...what sword...and what F?

 •
Posted by: Sand Angel Hey I am so excited! Ive been a halo fan since it first came out, It was also my first X-box video game ever! I have always thought the halo games were the best ever and hope that Halo 3 will be just as good as the rest, THANKS BUNGIE!!!
I have to agree, but I did think that the weapons and the campaign mode on Halo 2 could have been improved... For example... In reality, a shotgun shot from about 10-15 would kill someone(take away all of MC's shield)... but in H2, it is like a pellet gun(unless you have host, then you can snipe ppl with it) And the sword, the fact that it is white hot plasma should like be an automatic kill, even though the lunges could me made from outrageous differences(even though it is fun) And I think that the story could have been more thorough Other than that... Keep up the amazing work Also... The plasma pistol was a joke of a weapon unless it was DWed or if you used BR with it Needlers could have been made a little stronger.... [Edited on 5/20/2006]

And what happened to the other survivng Spartans, because they didnt appear in Halo 2... and what about the supposed Spartan III's that were supposed to be trained as well???

 • Hey Frankie, Two questions for you: Since the appearance of the Assualt Rifle (or an alternate model, whatever), people have been freaking out about the possible nostalgia of Halo: Combat Evolved. Will there be any other returning content from the original game? And, when will we begin to learn about the multiplayer details? I know you have 100 000 fans out there that would like to hear about them! Also, me and my Canadian brothers would like to see Mister Chief rockin' out in Toronto or something. I'm thinking, a trek up the CN Tower... [Edited on 5/19/2006]

 • yes I'm sure there's SUMthing about it in there... SUM, cause you know that's how you spell it. I think you should allow all weapons in multiplayer, but don't put some of them into matchmaking. If we want to mess around with the fuel rod cannon or whatever, we should be able to no matter how imbalanced it is. We could just turn it off.

 • I don't think the Halo franchise has anything to do with atlantis... I think the Halo franchise is a tie-in to the Bible... Take a Look at this: ''The Bible mentions the Ark for the last time in Jeremiah 3:16, when it is noted that "when yet be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more, The Ark of the covenant of the Lord neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more." This goes along with "The Ark Theory", in that if the Forerunner really were humans, they could have forgotten all about the Halo(s) and the Ark over-time. Anyway back on topic, Will the Fuel Rod Cannon be in Multiplayer this time Frankie? [Edited on 5/17/2006]

 • Hey Frankie, Is the crater in the Halo 3 trailer a natural crater, or ground zero of where the city used to stand? If it is a natural crater, does the crater exist in real life? Because there are crater nature reserves that are on the outskirts of Mt. Kilimanjaro. If you can't answer this because it would give something away about Halo 3, I can understand. I just want to know if it's based off a real place.

 • SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check it out boys and girls, common sense is here. First off, Everyone is freakin out about Cortana, yes she is fused with the mombasa, thats why she says she knows everything about Master Cheif. Chances are if the story is anything like it has been, you will have to fight the mombasa or cortana in HALO 3. I don't know what it means about Halo delta, possible Halo 4 in the making? The assault rifle should have burst fire options, it just makes sense if they are going to make improvements, make it both assault and battle rifle capable. Bungie people are smart as -blam!-, they must have a female spartan during multiplayer action. Microsoft is way pushing female gameplay, and halo already has -blam!- ton of female gamers. Anything that people predict, Bungie will out do.

 • "First up - Bad news for about 200 of the most serious bridgers, standbyers and boosters yesterday - we banned them. Better, newer tools allow us to spot network throttlers and other CRETINS more easily. There will be plenty more bannings before we're through. It's not hard to detect, but we like to be careful about who we ban. So if you're boosting with a modder, or a bridger, stop. Stop because it's stupid to cheat at a video game, and stop because you will get banned and yes, we can tell. I don't understand people who will cheat to get a rank number they know they didn't deserve. Clowns. Anyway, enjoy being banned." Please do something about Modding. i know the games are purged...But it is ALOT going on still. We Quit this game as fast as we could. Something has to be done. And i think its rediculous that you even warn them to stop. We played a few games after.. but to be honest , this link below completely ruined our night. http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStats.aspx?gameID=487028707&player=c0mfor7a31yNum3 [Edited on 5/16/2006]

 • I just hope to hell we get to have more power when it comes to making Game types, and where certin guns go. (not like with rocket spwan spot, have a sniper, but like choosing the types of weapons in that class.) I also hope we can put some pictures in our gametype's name. In Halo 2 its only possible with Action Replay. God that stuff was fun. :) One more thing, who thinks here that we should have a gametype in H3 of unlimited grenades, but no weapons? I personally love that! -Aktins Diet

 •
Posted by: I Cadilllac I
Posted by: Caboose987 Ok, played Halo: Combat Evolved. The Assault Rifle in the trailer is just about completely identical to the original, what's the deal ? I really think you should be extremely careful on choices for weapons for the new Halo. Think about it, the first Halo didn't have live, but it had System Link, but no one used it because the weapons didn't fit a multi-player battle. Halo 2 was so popular and worked great because it had different types of weapons, e.g. SMG is basically an AR and the Battle Rifle was a bit of a tactical weapon. What would a Halo Team Slayer be like if the main weapon was an AR ? It would feel so weird and un-Haloish. Here's an idea, get 4 players to play Halo: Combat Evolved and see how much the Multi-player sucked, it wasn't rubbish, but it wasn't good, it was weird and just...I don't know how to explain it but it was really weird. Then play Halo 2 on a multi player...feel the difference and the opportunities that the weapon choice brings. Yes there are a few extra weapons in Halo 2, but the difference between the weapons gives you more choice and more of a battle. Feel the change the Halo 2 weapons bring about. So, to the point, think extremely carefully about weapons for Halo 2, in my opinion i absoloutely hated the AR in Halo. Here you are thinking about the future of Halo, even though this is the last installation, think about it, most people have Halo 2 for the multi-player, because the Campaign became boring after completing it a few times. If there were rubbish weapons in Halo 3, there won't be much Halo 3 being bought or used, and i have a feeling a lot of people would buy the game, finish the story and go back to Halo 2 on Live. Please think carefully on this, it's quite a concern really.
Excuse the name calling.... but you my friend, are an idiot. "I really think you should be extremely careful on choices for weapons for the new Halo. Think about it, the first Halo didn't have live, but it had System Link, but no one used it because the weapons didn't fit a multi-player battle." Apparently you didnt play very much H:CE or have very much knowledge of it because it is the game that spawned MILLIONS of lan partys. Its the game that brought competitive gaming to a new level. I cant believe you will sit here and act like the multiplayer in Halo:CE was mediocre or average because it simply was much better than that. "Here's an idea, get 4 players to play Halo: Combat Evolved and see how much the Multi-player sucked, it wasn't rubbish, but it wasn't good, it was weird and just...I don't know how to explain it but it was really weird. Yes there are a few extra weapons in Halo 2, but the difference between the weapons gives you more choice and more of a battle. Feel the change the Halo 2 weapons bring about." As for this little statement... Just please excuse Halo:CE for having weapons with a purpose. With your theory more variety is better (and A LOT of people think this way), however let me ask you this... Why is Halo so much better than other FPS? Why does it sell more copies? Why is it the game professionals haven chosen to play for years? Why does it have a factor that keeps you playing for over a year from launch? The answer to all these questions is that its NOT a generic FPS. It has 10 or so PURPOSEFUL weapons. Every weapon has a time, a place, and a purpose. With Halo 2 bungie lessened that to an extreme degree.... especially when it comes to vehicles. The game has become much more concerned with what looks 'cool' and can be implemented. Now of course the game also stands out because of its epic storyline (which many think is not a good one) and its great user interface. However, it still all comes back to these core gameplay ideas. If you want to have 50 weapons, be able to hold 10 at a time, have 35 different vehilces then you are playing the wrong FPS. Other developers have already proven that more isnt always better. Heres an old nintendo statement for you "quality over quantity."
I'm with ya on that all the way. That kid should be playing unreal championship...or similar FPS's ... i thought with Halo 2... thats where the game was heading... you know... more playable characters, more weapons....Duel Weilding( which BTW has been done Before so theres nothing special about that.) Halo: Combat Evolved was Original... never before even close gameplay or story line..... Thats why it is called Halo: Combat Evolved (Not Halo 1 like most people call it with "Ignorance") Halo 2 is simply Halo 2.... I mean what would they call it.... Halo 2: Combat Devolved ? Or how About Halo 2: The MC is No Longer a Hero? Maybe that would have sold more copies? flippin sw33t hellz yeah
The BR is not cheep, its just right. The sword can be dodged, and is usless at medium range. The AR will prob. be the best gun for close- semi mid range, like it should be.
Posted by: amanwithafork
Posted by: ChiloPilo
Posted by: Aktins_Diet Theres a reason they gave the BR a 3 shot Burst or "SPREAD" rather.... that so the peopel with Horrible Aim would have a chance in Hell in landing 1 of those 3 shots. I agree... The BR was Cheap and a rather poor replacement for the M6D Pistol. And to everyone who has Ballence in Gameplay issues... please read my Famous yet witty quote beneath my posts. • I think it was only posted once so far but just to reiterate. If you pay attention to the direction of the flight of the Covenant ships you will notice that the banshees are approaching the "ark" in the trailer while two other ships are lifting off from the "ark". This in my mind would constitute a divide among the covenant possibly led by the arbitor

 •
Posted by: Aktins_Diet I always thought Alantis was involved in some way, but i could never really connect it. If what you say is true, then this could be a big find. Could you give me some Refrences that gave you this impression? I really want to learn more about it myself, thanks. -Aktins Diet
There are several references through the Halo trilogy that have been made - all pointing towards Plato's story - however most of these appeared during the storyline for Halo2. I have made a list of these ever since before Bungie asked for Contract Writers. Special thanks goes to Enclopedia Mythica for references: ======================================= Forerunner -- http://www.pantheon.org/cgi-bin/search.pl?nocpp=1&Realm= mythica&fa=0&Terms=Forerunner The Oracles -- http://www.pantheon.org/articles/o/oracle.html Katavul (possibly the first Arbiter) -- http://www.pantheon.org/articles/k/katavul.html The Flood -- http://www.pantheon.org/articles/f/flood.html Gods of The Winds -- http://www.pantheon.org/articles/g/gods_of_the_winds.html Ark of the Covenant -- http://www.pantheon.org/articles/a/ark_of_the_covenant.html Noah -- http://www.pantheon.org/articles/n/noah.html The Tabernacle -- http://www.pantheon.org/articles/t/tabernacle.html Atlantis, and "The Fall" -- http://www.pantheon.org/articles/a/atlantis.html If my beliefs are correct, the "kings" in the myth of Atlantis refer to the Prophets; the sumpreme rulers of the Covenant. When the Forerunners gave them Atlantis, they prescribed to its inhabitants a set of rules to follow, but oveer time the Prophets gained so much power they became too greedy. They tried to establish an empire of their own to overthrow the Forerunners, with Humanity caught in the middle. The war lasted for 100 millennia until the Forerunners decided to create a weapon that would wipe out all life on Earth, crushing the rebellion for good. They called this weapon the Flood. When the Flood were released on Earth the newly-formed Covenant decided to abandon their homeworld and either created or captured the Ark: a ship based on Forerunner technology that could both ferry a large number of their race to safety, but one that could also control the "Halo" fortress platforms in their gods' territory. Humans also found a similar Ark and used it to protect themselves from the Flood. Then, once the "Ark of the Covenant" reached a safe distance, they activated the Halo network, in the process destroying the Forerunners, and the Flood on the Earth's surface. While the Covenant made their journey in the cold of space far from Forerunner boundaries, Humans returned to the world that was also theirs and repopulated the planet... And now after 900,000 years, the Covenant have returned to start that war all over again, just with Humanity instead of their gods. It is my belief that this site buried under New Mombasa is either the city of Atlantis, or at the very least the launch-site for the Ark (the Tabernacle) that transported the Covenant to safety so long ago. • #1, So are we (the players) going to go into that city in the distance at some point in the game? #1.5, If we get to, is there a chance of seeing a night or late evening level in the city? That would be totally sweet with all the city lights and etc. #2, is the "heat" effect in the background part of the in-game engine? Or is that an added effect for the trailer? #3, is there going to be a "return" of old mombosa (aka "destroyed mombosa") at any point in the game? #4, Is there going to be a level inside the forerunner ship (the one that left from High Charity)? #5, What is (or was) the structure that the Cheif walked through (in the first part of the trailer)? #6, Can the Cheif really "walk" (not run) that fast? #7, So what is "new" (fictitionally, not fact. As in, not game engine related.) on the weapon the Cheif is carrying? #8, I counted 34 Capitiol Ships, 9 banshees and 1 phantom. How many more/are there any more are there in the trailer? (just curious) #9, Is there any reason (that you can tell us) why 3 of the capitiol ships (and the phantoms and banshees) are fleeing the forerunner structure? (and if you respond no or nope please define waht you are responding nope to) #10, (and the last question) Does the "wind" really blow around sings and etc. (aka the grunt crossing sign)? Thanks!

 •
Posted by: Tiletron In the trailer it showed what I thought was the docking station on High Charity for the "Ark" - a control-ship that could fire all remaining Halos simultaneously - but now I am not so sure. Before I ask my question, I will be making some comparisons. We know that the Forerunner-Flood War happened 900,000 years ago, after a statement made by Marcus Lehto during Halo2's development process. We also know that during this period, the Halos were activated. In Earth's history there are also a number of references to "Noah's Ark" and "the great Flood created to purge and purify the world", in the story of Gilgamesh... and the city of Atlantis during this period; where the flood swallowed the city into the ocean. All of this was part of a story told by Plato about a civil war that occured long before our own civilisations. According to some historians, the Earth surrounding the desert-regions of Africa 1 million years ago were covered by both fields and ocean/waterway systems, and it is theorised some natural disaster caused this to be obliterated. Also in the story of Atlantis, "the fall" was attributed to a war between a confederacy of the rulers of the city (who had cohabited with mortals) and the gods who created it and the rings that surrounded and protected it. Lastly, there is some discrepancy in the time in which this war was set; either being 900 or 9,000 years ago, or perhaps even longer than Plato believed. Now we've always assumed that each of these Halos were just weapon-platforms, but in the first game Cortana said the Forerunners referred to them as "fortress worlds". It is also fair to assume that - while at the start of Halo 1 there were seven rings - there might have been 10 of them as Plato's story suggested... (wait for it) In the trailer, the top of the structure in the crater looks similar to the control centers on the other Halos, but because it's on Earth it can't be a Halo itself. Is the structure in the trailer the city of Atlantis; buried by the devastation caused in the 100,000 Year War?
I always thought Alantis was involved in some way, but i could never really connect it. If what you say is true, then this could be a big find. Could you give me some Refrences that gave you this impression? I really want to learn more about it myself, thanks. -Aktins Diet
