I was looking around the bungie store for a present to give to my friends little brother for his birthday, he is quite young and then I thought that since he was a huge bungie fan I would get him something that symbolizes bungie so I thought that I could get him a Soffish.
I never was quite sure on whether it was real or not so I checked Bungiepedia and the same stuff came up. I also seem to keep finding the same stuff over the "net" so I am still a little perplexed. According to this page on Bnet it has safety instructions and ways to "keep it clean" (c wat i did thar). This leads me to believe that you could buy a Soffish. Can anyone clear this up for me?
Posted by: Isaac Clarke
Posted by: Brian OA Okay I'll set up a pitfall filled with shaving cream and razor blades. Hopefully they'll manage to wound his beard slightly, at least enough to knock him out for some hours. Though you WILL have to lead him somewhere.. Well now we need to decide who's gonna stay in a truck and scream useless advice through a communication device mounted on an ice cream truck.
But sage can nerf that! What we need to do is set up a bunch of individual traps separate from each other, but still covering the same area. This way, Sage is going to have to nerf each individual one. Maybe we could set it up so that if you nerf one, all the others restrain Sage harder, forcing him to consider balance?
...And if Sage considers balance, he implodes! Dude, you're a genius. That box is as good as ours.
Posted by: SilverBulitt82 It would be pretty cool if you could get one, but it won't happen.
You never know... I've still been on the lookout.
Posted by: Sardonic13 American Science and Surplus is so much more than a simple dollar store. You can't buy transistor electronics, WWII era gas masks, and cold war era metal Fallout Shelter signs at a dollar store.
It was a probably a liquidation when they had the tent out.

Stosh and soffish... They seems to have something in common... Does soffish hate toast?
Posted by: MinusMan I bought it at the American Science and Surplus tent sale in Chicago, Illinois.
I never thought to connect Soffish with Chicago's American Science and Surplus store, but it makes sense. If the crew there had no recollection of it, it must really be a rare item.
Posted by: Brian OA This thread is now dedicated to finding the location of that dollar store.
Posted by: Bahh M15 Did Stosh send you here, Mr. Soell?
Nope. I got an email about this thread. Took me a while to get round to checking it out, and then I had to register a new account, but I decided to weigh in on my own. Stosh is an innocent bystander. -Matt
Posted by: MinusMan I bought it at the American Science and Surplus tent sale in Chicago, Illinois. I actually bought two of them, one carp-like one (the "official" Soffish, or at least what Bungie vets might think of as the official one) and another which resembled a rainbow trout. They were 10 cents each and if I had known what a cultural phenomenon they would become I would have bought the entire stack instead of just two. The carp-like Soffish lived in a Gatorade bottle filled with water. The second one was never removed from his packaging. Both have long since gone missing. At one point (when Bungie was still in Chicago) the then-manager of the Bungie Store, Jim Ruiz, called American Science and Surplus to see if they had any more. They did not even know what he was talking about. And that was just a couple years after I'd bought them. There are many mysteries associated with Soffish - where they came from, where they are now, and what does it all mean? I think we should just be grateful to have had Soffish in our lives for the brief period we did. Remember, if you find Soffish: do not eat! -Matt
Did Stosh send you here, Mr. Soell?

I would have bought 1,000 of them and put them all over people's cars, books, etc. with a note that said "Bungie has tagged you".
