Since the changes affecting flinch and body shot damage of other weapons most of these handcannons have now become unbearable. You can't duel against these and win. Now everyone is running around with Luna's Howl easily three tapping (and two tapping) without proper consequences.
You need to reinstate the previous flinch values and return body shot damage to other weapons. Not every game mode in PvP needs to be a sweaty Trials match. Without other weapons like auto rifles and pulses these handcannons will continue to be the Go To. This will further decrease the player population in the Crucible. No one wants to play match after match after match against Basement Joe and his sweaty Trials team.

The flinch on primaries needs to go back
-
Hand cannons require 3 headshots in a row. Meanwhile sidearms can all body shot and get the same time to kill as HCs

Giving body shot damage back probably wouldn't help. Then Basement Joe would be able to kill Johnny Dayjob with all kinds of other weapons while he's trying to flee. Hand cannons on console don't even seem all that strong outside of drastic connection mismatches. Even then it's usually rose in terms of the 140s that feels super strong in those scenarios. People have to get the right Luna to drop them also have to be able to use it well. They gave all those summoners away and that and the smgs are still somehow not good enough to deal with a hand cannons that tends to drop with low range. Midnight coup is another one that has low range values a lot of the time. It's like some people just can't see a hand cannon in their lobbies without thinking it's somehow unfair. And they were just recently in an even weaker state than they tend to be now for most players. There's probably other things that should be blamed for player population decreases if there is any before hand cannons are.

Nobody comes out harder than HC Stans.

Yes bro I 100% agree

I can't use 120/140 HCs in PvP. Period. But I've somehow racked up (collectively) over two thousand "defeats" using : 1. Malfeascence 2. Vulpecula 3. Trust 4. Frontier's cry All 180s and with Explosive Payload (what can I say, I'm a rifle player 🤣) with the exception of #4 - Compulsive Loader+Kill Clip. Maybe go for the AoE and return the favour to 140 users?
-
Reverting the previous flinch changes would make your problem worse. They just reduced how much flinch hand cannons induce and also increased how much flinch handcannons receive
-
HCs have the slowest TTKs in the game, you’re missing your shots.
-
hc are perfectly balanced, there are a lot of guns with better ttk and range
-
Every weapon in the game has quicker base ttk than 120/140 hand cannon's. If you're losing a duel with any other weapon archetype then it's a skill issue
-
Be careful I just complained about this and got angry sweats yelling at me 😂
-
Oh yes ! Luna howl is every where ….predictable.amazing aim assist, zero flitch and can map with zero recoil ….of course most would jump on this HC. I’m general HC’s have been around since day one ….Bungie needs HC’s to always be relevant….some of their key streamers use HC’s . Crimson is a great starter HC it has training wheels as well😂

You can put on a 140 and see if you can become unbearable and invincible.

Edited by Facelauss: 5/13/2024 5:01:27 PM140 HCs are the most balanced weapon type in the game requiring 100% crits to achieve a 0.87s ttk which is slower than several other weapon types Mag howl requires 2 precession kills inorder to 2 tap someone

Just skill issue. I agree Lunas smaks, just grab a trespasser and smack them back!

Edited by Zodleon: 5/13/2024 9:35:57 AMI main sidearms and do fine against HCs (and use a bunch if other things, pretty much anything i feel like). It's probably a skill issue.

There ya go. Just post through the pain buddy. Maybe another post will get them nerfed. Third times the charm, right?

I don’t like the idea of adding flinch to weapons, but I’m not against making hand cannons a little bit less forgiving. Maybe you can reduce aim assist, specially on weapons like Luna’s Howl.

Edited by Fujimoose: 5/13/2024 6:00:37 AMI don’t know. I’m getting the opposite effect. The only 140 that actually feels good is my crafted austringer. I just crafted kept confidence and it’s not impressing me. I’m losing a lot of duels with it. Granted it’s also the matchmaking putting me into matches I have no business being in but that’s a whole other topic. I just got rose and maybe it’s not a good roll but that hand cannon doesn’t feel right either. I see a lot of the last word, crimson and ace of spades along with lunas howl. And I’ll agree tlw shreds and so does lunas howl. I haven’t used ace or crimson in a long time. I’m not a good player either. I’m average on a normal day. With the game putting me into matches where the opposite team has a 100% chance of winning with players with elos almost at 3000, I’m getting very low scoring games, going negative; if I stay in the game. I’ve been leaving matches lately. I’m tired of stomps. When you cap one zone and go to the next and the score is already 13-75 you already know it’s not going well. Anyways I’m not having good matches with most of the legendary hand cannons. I might just switch back to the last word or use an auto or pulse.

Not a hand cannon fan either but there are plenty of weapons to pick from. You’ll never get a pvp main to not sweat. Thats how they play. Bout the only thing bungie could do is match based on skill level but no one actually wants that because they will find they’re not as good as they think.
