We all should start a “Introverts of Destiny” clan and plan to do raids and just never do them, kinda like we do in real life activities.

My heart goes out to you guys, in my opinion it’s other players that bring virtual worlds to life. It’s sad to me that for whatever reason you guys can’t experience that. To look at a whole world of people and just say nah, I’m good. There’s something so immature and nihilistic about that to me.

I like being a solo player, always more enjoyable for me.

This is how I’ve played for years. I used to do raids, but I really don’t want to interact with others online. I don’t even think about raid or dungeon weapons. It will probably just end up rotting in my vault. I’m happy enough to hop on and play the way I want to play.

Same. I just don't care about having everything in the game or doing all the dungeons/raids. I work, have a social life, enjoy the outdoors, and travel so I don't have time for it all, anyway. There is more than enough for solo players to do if they have outside interests.

I'm a solo player too. To some degree it's a choice of my own and to some, not. I have a "few flaws" that might be scary and huge hinders to many other players; I'm really old, slow, have dyspraxia, can't stress without getting ill, strong-willed, bad at speaking english, pretty shy, not a male, etc... Sometimes I really miss a good reliable friend to play with because it can be very fun accomplish mission together with other guardians, shared happiness, twice as great! Sometimes I get a friend request but I never approve of them just because I don't want to start by saying; - Naaah.. I don't think it's a good idea to YOU dear sender, cause blahblahblah...it's not a win-win situation exactly. I had av gaming friend for ca three years but he "divorced" me... and moved on with a younger male friend. 😹I knew about his friend for some time and asked him multiple times to bring him on in our fireteam but he never did. Perhaps he was ashamed of me or something, who knows... So I know the feeling of having a friend to now and then, play with. I also love doing Raids - with sturdy very enduring mature guardians. That' don't mind waiting, playing in an unstressful way and letting The Fun be the main object. I'm a "result" oriented gamer so I like to finish what I'm starting to do, so finish things is always still a priority, don't be fooled. I also have a chronical issue that hinders me to game certain times. My divorcing friend and I used to decide days and times when we could game together and that works perfect for me. My issue is having pain 24/7 related to my former work situation and I do not work anymore. By be able to chose time for gaming enables me to prepare, plan and adapt for the moment of gaming. It helps a lot! I could also send a message and call off the time if having a no sleep night, etc... He could then use his time better not needing to wait for me, not being able to show up that day and so on. It's not always the GG that s the answer to all solo players will about having possibilities to access certain sorts of weapons, like higher tier ones. Even You friends will get older and fall off the list with top sought players to game with. If you like gaming then you hopefully end up being a very old gamer in the end. I started ca 1986 and Hey 2024!!! Fast as eff. Be nice to each other while chasing all the ugly monsters, loot, goals, etc.. Game On Guardians! 😺

Bungie definitely needs to add something for new/returning players. it's a joke how much you have to grind out for old raid weapons/exotic's.. when it's already hard enough getting a group for them.. I think they should make pinnacle engrams drop all weapon's/exotic at this point of the game..

I used to be solo but you do need to team up with a few even if it’s just +2 and do the higher difficulty stuff to get better loot. Once you get comfortable playing as a 3 then go try some raids. There’s a lot of game beyond solo to leave at the table.

The way I play destiny is I look for weapons that interest me then grind till my eyes bleed, once I get them I play pvp until my eyes bleed.

im a solo that doesn't bother with power levelling.. i have enough chores in my life without my videogames demanding them from me to.. what usually happens is i start to enjoy the game when i have more access to content usually as the seasons progress i gain access to lost sector farming due to the soft cap shifting its not done that for awhile so right now iv taken up soloing the vault of glass door to form spoils 30 per week until i can buy tarrabah and make a build with it (thats if by the time i have enough nothing changes with vault of glass, bungie might change it cutting off that ability) i dont want anything for free i want to work for it and playing with others just isnt an option for me.. i dont like talking.

Figuring out how to solo dungeons is the best part of the game for me, rest of the time I’m grinding weapons to make that easier. I haven’t done a raid in yrs, I got tired of the bs so I’ve been solo since about Forsaken, I don’t miss it lol. I don’t really miss the weapons either, I seem to be able to solo flawless dungeons just fine without them. The secret to having fun as a solo player is getting over the need to have everything in the game.

Been a solo player since the Destiny 1 beta. I come and go whenever I please to play with friends. And now since most of my friends hardly play this game, I'm truly alone just to do my own thing. Do the things how I wanted to do. Still won't do LFGs unless I wanted to.

Never done a raid, or even a phase of one. Before fireteam finder I was very much in your position (been playing since D1 also). There’s a lot of QoL changes that I think have improved the experience for solo players. I’ve done almost all the dungeons, which I personally find to be the most enjoyable content a solo player can do (never soloed a dungeon of course; I mean with randoms). Curious to see what TFS brings for solo players.

Whilst not disagreeing with you, my issue is that the content you mention eg strikes, Gambit etc, have had very little love in recent times. Now they are stale and dull because we’ve all done them a million times over. Two…three? Gambit maps means the amount of repetition just doesn’t interest me and, at least for the moment, the same old strikes and battle grounds (ugh!) have become too stale to play. As they say, familiarity breeds contempt, and in my case it has. If there was strike specific loot or they could just reintroduce the strikes from destinations we no longer visit, just to freshen up the rotation, then that might drag me back into the activity, but the current ones, alongside Dares of Eternity, another unloved facet of the game, have become too uninspiring. I don’t raid, have never done a dungeon, I’m simply not good enough, so I’m just collecting the ‘new weapons’ and trying out some old ones until TFS drops, but I do feel that as a solo player I would be far more heavily invested in only Bungie occasionally looked at freshening up what they had, rather than introduce yet another 3-6 person activity with rewards which are, in my opinion, a little lacklustre.

I’ll never get why people act like being a solo player is a whole different experience. There’s literally an in game lfg system that is just matchmaking with extra steps. If you can load into a strike with two other players, you can just as easily load into warlords ruin with two other people.
