Here we go again....
The PvP fan base is trying to claim prismatic needs to be excluded from PvP because it's going to break it. Really? Aren't you the same ones claiming that the abilities they've chosen to be a part of the subclass are trash?
"But they buffed the abilities specifically for prismatic." No, they made them synergize better. They won't have increased damage in PvP.
"If they synergize better, they'll have more up time." Right, in a mode with abysmal ability regen to begin with. Oh, and didn't you also say they were trash abilities to begin with? Theoretically, you should be able to run a pure subclass and use your good abilities and get just as much up time.
I could see an argument for prismatic being pretty hard to read in a crucible match. A subclass that allows your enemy to use abilities from any of the subclasses would definitely be a wild card. I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing though.
Tldr, I just think you're blowing it a bit out of proportion. I would be more worried about those new exotic class items if I were you.

I can’t wait to slow them as I make a Threaded Spector beside them lol. I don’t even play PvP unless I’m farming for a weapon but that might become my favourite time kill lol. You know that’s gonna piss a lot of ppl off.

I see many people complain before it's even out that it would be broken. It's the same bs we have been dealing with for years now..without prismatic it would have happened regardless. That being said, from what I have seen, it requires you to do damage with both light and darkness abilities (From what they showcased) meaning that prismatic uptime might be very limited to rare in high level round based pvp. If its tied to ability uptime then I highly doubt its going to be a massive issue But we can only wait and see

PvP “elites” mostly hate abilities, they want the game to be just a bland max aim assist shooting game -
Guess we'll see. Abilities aren't as dominating of a factor as they were in the last few years and if it's too much then that might require more access to fps gameplay to deal with it. People aren't going to be wearing laggy dr and they won't be getting frozen in place so there's a good chance it won't be the worst it's ever been.

Asking for it to not be allowed in crucible at all is a fair ask. Considering the possibility for overpowered synergies, it looks like it could be impossible to balance, and it they try, the pve moaners will be all we here for weeks. consider this perspective. If it's not in pvp, it can be as broken and versatile as we all want with no worry that either mode will ruin it for the other. I'll adapt regardless, but concern is reasonable considering more balanced looking things have broken crucible before.

The subclass for it's excessive ability usage and the exotics for the busted combinations. In PvE it's going to be glorious. In PvP it's going to be an absolute disaster for a game mode already one foot in the grave. TLDR: Not blown out of proportion. Just holding Bungie accountable for their piss poor past performance. Which it still is.

4 RepliesEven if it does ship broken (which I don’t think it will, Bungie learned from Stasis) we haven’t had a power fantasy in PvP since Stasis launch. Strand shipped super weak and Hunter was the only usable Strand subclass in PvP. Prismatic doesn’t even look like it’s directed towards PvP at all. It looks to be more PvE based just because the focus is to reach Transcendence (which will probably be difficult in PvP) and to combine ability combos (which will be very wasteful in a PvP sandbox that relies more on gunplay and less on abilities. Using two abilities to get a kill in PvP is like spending 100 dollars on a bar of soap. Prismatic will be good in PvE, but the very fabric of why it was created completely conflicts with PvP. I don’t see it being a big problem.

Prismatic cant break pvp. You cant hurt or break something that is already DEAD. The pvp has become the worst pvp experience ever made in destiny history. Even worse than d2 y1 because at least d2 y1 still felt like a new game.
