There's two types of long-time Guardians in the wake of yesterday's TFS revelations: those that were stunned by the almost unbelievable footage revealed ... and those that are lying. My biggest personal and subjective concerns about 2024 Warlock were centered around combat action thrill. Not that we're weak or ineffective, but rather falling behind in flourish and explosive playmaking. Even if every single Warlock main agrees with me, which they don't, expecting a substantial overhaul of class identity was obviously unrealistic. Everything in the footage and today's deep dive article is just straight W's across the board. Plucking the coolest and distinct bits of our kit like Lightning Surge and Phoenix Dive and allowing them to shine way more often looks brilliant. And what I understand so far of the Light and Dark Bars is also encouraging, it reminds me of the Energy Generator-Spender systems from my favorite ARPGs. I can't wait. I'd much rather be happy in-game than be "right" in grouchy forum posts, so I'm here to acknowledge this developer mic drop.
