I am not really liking the new PvP changes in trials, i think it slows down the already slow game mode, where sitting back with pulses, autos and scouts to team shot is what works best. I would much rather play trials from before the changes, anyone else feeling this way?

changes are terrible they really need to disband the PVP team over at Bungie headquarters just making it worse every time, revert changes back very poor thinking on their behalf

The only people enjoying the update are the top 10% of players because now they can stomp casuals without anything to counter them. I dislike the changes because I like having options to kill with. The special ammo changes make it not worth running special because you only get special ammo maybe twice, so it’s either play at a disadvantage with only 1 primary and horde your special for late game, or running double primary then have nothing to counter a bubble/well late game. Both are very boring. This game was a fun faced paced shooter but the changes just slowed the game down so much making it just boring. The ability cooldown increase and health increase just makes abilities not worth running anymore either. I personally don’t think the pvp changes will save the mode. I fell in love with the sandbox of forsaken because it had fast movement AND I could still use my special weapons and abilities just fine. Now with them trying to make pvp more “strategic” with emphasis on skill all it’s done is slow the game down to D2 launch double primary weapon meta with forsaken’s movement, and alienate casual players. Reducing options to kill with just makes the game boring sorry. Just for laughs here’s a dumb idea. Since “dedicated” pvp players dislike special weapons and abilities so much, I think it’s only fair the casuals get what they want too, so let’s nerf jumping speed, increase the flinch and accuracy during a slide, and let’s put a timer on crouching to reduce crouch spamming. I’m sure the dedicated pvp players would love these changes as it’ll put an emphasis on gunplay lol, in all seriousness if bungie wants to put an emphasis on skill increasing the health isn’t the play. Reducing aim assist is as a lot guns have 80+ aim assist basically making guns auto aim for you (Rose is a prime example with 85 Aim assist)

Nah, anything better than titans sitting behind void barricades with smg's+cloudstrike or strand hunter ability spam. Trials are better now, but Bungie need to do some work

It’s mad annoying and also very hard to keep track of who has special and who doesn’t
-
Yup! This sandbox is just not it and they f ed up with the huge rework, Bungie has no idea what they're doing
-
I like the trials change. Better than being forced to put on a sniper or shotgun to challenge other special ammo users
-
I really liked it at first. But I got really bored by the end of the weekend. Felt like it was just an auto rifle team blob match. But either way it’s a lot slower. And it’ll probably get worse as the weeks go on. Think I’ll dip until FS.
-
Nah I like it. Trials was great this weekend.
-
Im loving less special ammo. Fewer cloudstrikes and apes running around only helps imo.
-
The changes make the game boring and have ruined all the “fun” Nothing but stand back and team shoot, get the 1st pick, then rush. You can’t make any hero play comebacks without your abilities Solo matchmaking is trash on purpose, it wouldn’t be difficult to upgrade the algorithm they don’t want to. Time to kill is lame like Apex legends
-
The only thing that made pvp bearable for me as a pve main, is that I could at least use a special weapon to get some kills here and there. Now that special weapons are without ammo, pvp has become unbearable.
-
I'm not sure what the changes were, but I noticed there is no special ammo which is lame, because the way I usually deal with laggy servers is switching to Witherhoard. Server lag has been very inconsistent for this Trials. I went flawless on my first try. Now the last two nights the lag is unplayable. I haven't won a single match tonight and teammates are quitting left and right.
-
I like it. Most games I had also didn’t feel that much different. People were still rushing and aping, just not as much.
-
I have no problem rushing,I’m happy that people don’t crutch special anymore.
-
Why am I seeing so many posts ending with some variation of "anyone else feel this way" somebody farming interactions?

I only got two flawlesses, but I used a 140HC (Thorn) which has dropped out of the most used weapons since the changes. That said, I feel it's early to make any such judgements. It's Burnout. Pulses, scouts, and 120 would have been prevalent a week ago as well. I'm not sure I like how the meta is shaking out, it could use some tweaking. Autos are becoming dominant. Subs are closing in on 140s, HC is still viable, but automatic weaponry isn't punished enough.
-
100% this. Plus why would I ever bother farming for a god roll secondary now if I can’t use it in Trials? This update is -blam!- and I think they’ve shot themselves in the foot with it.
-
It’s burnout.

Edited by A_mo: 3/11/2024 6:56:23 PMYou don't necessarily have to sit back due to some of the reasons you used to have to but what it seems like right now is that a lot of people simply don't know how or when they should push without the special ammo being like it was. Its really not that big of a problem as long as people stick with it. Its more akin to when Gambit would change and everyone would get mad or when the UI changes and people lose their minds which I find hilarious sometimes. Smgs are powerful for a reason?

They’ve just created issues And don’t seem to be thought out all too well at all some unnecessary nerfs happened and seemingly some even more unnecessary buffs There were like 5 good changes total
-
I miss special ammo :(

You forgot to mention handcannons in your post. Bias or something else?
