I tried the beta fireteam finder. My original intention was just to try it out and see what Bungie came up with. The initial vows/pillars were cute but probably useless. The 1st group I joined was a VoG run with an experience required and English tag. It can’t get much easier than that right? Both OP and myself had 50+ clears. The 4 others had 0 clears. 3 people didn’t speak English. I wasn’t looking to do a full carry so I left. I then made my own post for another VoG. It was a little clunky to vet and accept applications. I was a little more strict for who got let in. I made sure that they had some sort of build and that they confirmed in chat about the tags. This run went much better. Had to boot 1 guy because he couldn’t figure out the Gorgons maze. I friended him so he could rejoin after we got through it but he never rejoined. Ended up 5 manning the rest and finished the entire run in 44 minutes. Much better experience. [u]General thoughts: [/u]1. It's a very good thing that base raids are not matchmade. 2. Make the fireteam finder separate from the roster tab. Really annoying to have a giant block just sit on top of the roster tab. 3. Make it so it checks for experience. If a post has an experience tag and someone doesn’t have said experience, then no application is allowed and they can’t join. 4. Bungie needs to significantly improve their in-game chat quality. Way too quiet and unclear voices even after adjusting sound settings. 5. Emphasis on default language. Make it to where you have to turn off a filter to get away from your own default language. This could also apply to regions/county’s. I think this would greatly help with communication. 6. Mic requirements should be detectable before you can join. Possibly have people pass a microphone check before they can join? 7. Bungie needs to put more TLC into the UI overall. Overall I don’t see myself using this feature over discord LFG or maybe companion app LFG when things are slow. This is mainly because the barrier to entry is higher. If I do use it, the activity has to be really really easy because the quality of the player will probably be worse.
