Given what happened recently I don’t think bungie is really in a position to lose out on potential pre orders by cutting off the older generation of consoles at this time.

I don't think their in a position to be catering to old gen if it's just gonna bog down their progress. A recent community chat with Evanf1997, Gladd, and ManoDestra revealed (I forget which one of them said it) that Bungie has a to have a completely separate build for old gen instead of having one shared build for current gen and PC which one of the reasons for the existence of the DCV (mind you this was said at a private event Bungie held and they could not reveal this information at the time due to an NDA, but now they can since theyre no longer under NDA. I'll update the post to have this point). If Bungie is indeed serious about Destiny being the best it can be, they need to leave the old behind and push forward with the new.

FL is pretty much feature complete, they are not going to add a deal if anything it'll be making sure it works, so polish not more content. Maybe extra weapons/armour. If you believe dropping old gen at this point will affect LF I think you're sadly mistaken. D2 will keep old gen for next years episodes bare minimum.
