What is the point of Sentinel Shield in PvP? Seriously?

Blocking with the shield doesn't last long against regular incoming fire, much less against supers. If I pop my shield and I turn in time to see someone cast Blade Barrage and shield it-- only to have it eat through my super and still kill people behind me-- my super feels weak. In that case, it is ESPECIALLY weak because the hunter decided they could Blade Barrage anyway despite having a Titan on the board. It's a move with no consequence. A Sentinel Shield in PvP should be king on the battlefield because it has no range, and the primary fire is a melee. The ranged shield has a cooldown and is very situational in order to be effective. ...and that's all dependent on whether or not you can actually use any of your keybinds while using Sentinel Shield. Nothing more fun than casting it and being able to do precisely nothing except sprint around. So, I ask the question again: What is the point of Sentinel Shield in PvP?

 • Played another round with it bugging out. I really don't want to rely on Ward of Dawn because it needs a high int for effectiveness in Control.
