Question: Well of Radiance vs Radiant

Since Radiant is a non-stacking damage buff that is on par with Ward of Dawn and Well of Radiance why bother using either of these two supers? A single hunter with Acrobats dodge and Ember of Torches is capable of applying radiant to an entire fireteam for a prolonged amount of time while being able to run a high damage super. Additionally, radiant allows you to move around without losing the damage buff. So if a fireteam is planning on running a maximum of a 25% damage buff, why use Ward of Dawn or Well of Radiance when you can use Radiant?

  • I said this to my raid team the other day. You don’t need a well for sisters or oryx since you’re immune anyway and radiance will cover the dmg buff. This is however an exception to the rule. Try doing warpriest or pretty much any other raid boss without the survivability of a well and things will go downhill quick.

  • Each of those supers proves a safe zone in which a character can activate to survive and add on a damage buff. Radiant only gives you damage buff and not regeneration or shields. When getting shot at by a strong enemy I’d rather have a shield or well over radiant

  • Ward of Dawn struggles since it generally gets in the way more than it helps but Well is pretty much required especially on higher difficulties as 50% dr plus the fact in pve it heals almost max hp every second basically makes you invincible.

  • Survivability. Those supers do more than just provide a damage buff.
