Should Bungie add a setting/item to auto Disable/Delete blue armor and guns once reaching the power level cap???

Should Bungie add something to toggle on and off (in settings/item) once you reach the power level cap (1570 this season) to delete, or just disable the drops for the blue guns and armor you just dismantle anyway?? They are pointless once you reach this level, and just take up time dismantling and space where better gear could be. Especially when farming high level activities at max light during double rewards(nightfall), when it deletes all your ascendant shards/alloys or enhancement prisms out of your postmaster, and there are only a few legendries with the rest being blues!! Thoughts??

  • It would be better to receive materials and glimmer instead of blues once we reach the cap.

"Looks dazed and confused, eyes flashing" "Puts on Sarcastipants" I don't know , man. Should you eat healthy? Should you excersize 30 minutes a day? Should you try to breathe in clean air? Should your brush your teeth? Should you be nice to others? Should you be less sarcastic? Should Bungie implement something that prevents thousands of players to lose valueable items in their mailbox regularly? SHOULD Bungie pull their heads out of their asses and add this to Lightfall? SHOULD SHOULD SHOULD YES THEY -blam!- SHOULD -blam!- -blam!-. Edit : This is 5 years of frustratingly deleting worthless BLUE CABBAGE from my inventory Nobody wants blues, I don't need 100 glimmer or gunsmith materials. You need like 500 blue items to rank up Banshee, only for him to give you a shitty legendary weapon you don't need Hell, we know ordeals (Not GM's) give shitty stat rolled armor, most of us have rolls we want I'd say add a toggle option to delete blues. Then also add a toggle option to delete Legendaries. I delete 99% of legendaries anyway. I will turn it back on for when I decide to farm the poopy pinnacle ordeal weapon I'm not gonna use anyway. Auto dismantling would be great, dude. You ever seen an armor roll above 62 stats drop in a strike, gambit, ordeal? No. Because it's locked behind focusing. We should even get a more detailed toggle list where we keep red borders and delete everything else. Anyone with over 500 hours in the game will agree. Name me 1 time you were gonna use that 58 stat rolled armor piece.

    • Yes. If I saw glimmer and gunsmith XP when I opened a chest, I’d rather that than see a blue I have to go dismantle. Or have Perry about running around collecting all blues that dropped from enemies before I go to orbit.

      • This isnt even a discussion at this point. There is no reason that this basic feature we had in D1 isnt in D2.

      • They removed it from end game content, but not from open world - Bungie does a lot of artificial boosting, and what the blues do is make the loot pool seem 3-5x larger than what is actually useful.

      • I was pained at the thought, but I have seen at least one other game make it a pay feature lol. Grubby af, but they wouldn’t be the first to make limited-time auto-selling boosters… “30 days of auto-selling blues for only 5000 brightdust! Or, buy the season pass and it is included for the season!” Leaves a bad taste… but thems free-to-play games for ya.

Would also be nice to get the materials when directly dismantling an engram (ie from inventory or postmaster). You typically get more Umbral Engrams than you can afford to focus and they are almost worthless otherwise. At least not worth interrupting your game session to go to the Tower to decrypt in order to dismantle them for shards. Postmaster should also be updated to where lower quality items do not push out higher quality items. An item can only push out an item of equal or lesser quality. If the item cannot push anything out then that item is auto dismantled for the materials.

Yes they should. But that would deprive Bungle of what they feel is valuable Playing Time wasting 2 seconds per blue item to delete them, so their player hours would drop off. And then they'd have to pull someone "Competent" off of Matter and other IP development and have them spend an hour coding up an auto delete functionality. Since there is no Q&A team for Destiny anymore (all working on Matter and other IP), they won't need to test it, so that saves them some money. But their "Competent" person who designed it would half -blam!- it, so it would likely do the exact opposite and DELETE everything EXCEPT Blues and then the User Interface (untested) would be broken and it would not be able to be turned off. So for 6 to 12 months, Bungle would let this languish because it doesn't affect there ability to Generate Silver, just our ability to level up. Does the above sound about right?

      • No That would reduce play time cause people would have less of a chance of losing their unused materials in postmaster storage

Of course, they should! But Blues are an addiction mechanism to hook new players. I just wish they'd realize, that by the time players go looking for the 'Stop giving me this useless crap' button, blues have served their purpose and the player is already addicted. At that point the mechanism that served to get us addicted no longer works and begins to generate negative feelings. Bungie, we are not going to leave because we feel unrewarded if you stop force feeding us blues. You might even convince some of your customers that you care about 'player experience' if you let players disable the addiction mechanism once they get to the point they go looking for a switch. You'll still hook the noobs who haven't reach the point to go looking for it. Win/win/win

The part I wish Bungie would realize is Nobody is asking for more legendaries instead of blues All we're saying is, once a player throws away every single blue without even having to isnpect it there should be a way of telling the game 'I throw every single blue I get away as soon as I can, do me a favor and just convert my blues to glimmer(because that's what I'm going to do anyway, every single time) whenever I get one so I can play without wasting my time and jammimg up my inventory'. Blues are no longer guns or armor, they are bundles of glimmer/rep that gum up the works. When I open a chest I feel much more rewarded when there is nothing but glimmer in it than a blue. It's like, yes!, I don't have to go into my menu and convert a useless 'bluemerang' into glimmer! I just got the glimmer. That's all autodismantle is. Instead of putting the glimmer/rep in a gun or armor shaped bundle which gums up my inventory, flash the blue icon on the upper right of my screen to show I got a blue, then automatically do what I have to interrupt my game to do manually so it doesn't gum up the works. This is basic QoL stuff, here

        • Yes. And they need to get away from the engrams idea. Just let us decrypt our own engrams but not focus them. Tired of umbrals filling all the engram slots after 2 strikes. Such a nuisance.

          • No it’s glimmer and there’s nothing wrong with holding the dismantle button for 3 seconds to get said glimmer.

              • Since this is about the 50th post on this subject and Bungie have refused to acknowledge any of them… the chances of getting this simple old D1 feature seem pretty slim. Why? …because they consider blue items “rewards” lol
