I've played a decent bit of control this season, seeing as the SBMM changes came I thought it would be better, but... It's kinda mixed.
To start off, the first thing I realized is a lot, AND I MEAN A LOT, of people are leaving matches half way through the game. Also understand I mainly play control, and rarely if ever touch anything else. This is also stacked with the fact people are stacking gunfights and seemingly spawn camping a bit more.
It has been great not to get curb stomped by sweats, but at the same time it's just the same, I'm still sweating the same amount to win a match because my teammates left, everybody's using only meta guns making it hard to have fun sometimes, and people are stacking while being matched against an almost all solo team. I mean it's amazing to have more equal matches, but at the same time I would like to have a cbmm control separate from normal control and/or a sbmm freelance control.
This doesn't mention the fact spawn camping is still very prevalent in higher lobbies from what I've seen. There is also the fact people are sweating more in a skill based lobby to get no different loot then in a low skill lobby. There's no incentive to play better other then get ascendant shards, pinnacle weapon from shaxx, and wooo power level grind yay. I'm an average or above average player, and seeing a quick play playlist add sbmm but strip cbmm is horrifying. at least have freelance or something for the casuals.
