If you've checked everything with the game install itself, then you need to start looking at any software on your computer that might be blocking the connection, as well as your local network hardware that might be blocking the connection, and then your ISP that might be having connection issues.
The servers are definitely up and available and able to be connected to, so the issue lies somewhere between the game client trying to connect and the servers, so you have to start troubleshooting your connection.

We could go that route... but: - there was no change in my networking settings - did not change ISP for 2 years - using the same router with the same firmware version for a year - all the other games are working - and I was able to play Destiny 2 before the 4.0.1 update without any problem this Tuesday 1 hour before the update Also, just to be on the same page, already checked the network trouble shooting guide and found nothing what could help: - I'm on wired connection - checked UPnP - Destiny is added as an exception to the firewall - I don't want to add port forwarding, since Destiny 2 has been working just fine until the update - using no VPN - Steam client is up to date So unless my ISP changed silently something in the same time window as the 4.0.1. update has been released, I would stick with the "something is wrong with the 4.0.1. update" narrative. Any other advise?
