title, recently started modding some games that appreciate Special K running but its a background thing that can modify game files and the installer installs it globally. I'm personally not sure if it even affects Destiny 2 but I AM concerned about the potential of getting my account banned because of it and having to go into Special K and disable it everytime I wanna start Destiny 2 is annoying.

Why does it even run at startup? It shouldn’t be running unless you are modding other games…

1 ReplyI see it has a "global injection system"; yup, that will get you banned.

Here is the rule of thumb to apply to this; If you have to ask, don't do it. You already know that it is likely going to end up poorly.
Special K[special-k.info] is an extensible game modifying framework created by Kaldaien. This framework can be used to modify graphics related settings of games. The framework supports both local (game-specific) and global (system-wide) injection, whatever matches the user's need the best.
It's not even a question at that point.
Stop the global injector before starting a multiplayer game (regardless of platform) where anti-cheat protection might be present! This is because global injection loads Special K into any process involved with system input. While Special K will remain inert and idle within non-whitelisted processes, some anti-cheat protections might still flag and choose to take action upon detecting its presence.
source: https://wiki.special-k.info/SpecialK/Global Based on their own wiki - you should be disabling it before playing Destiny 2 or any other multiplayer game.
