SOLUTION (Settings Reset At Every Game Launch)

Unsure if this will assist most, but I found a solution to a problem I was having on PC and Steam and thought I should share. I found that some game settings would automatically reset every time I would boot up Destiny 2. For example, even though I play in windowed fullscreen, it would boot the game in fullscreen. It would change "framerate cap" to on, when I always had it turned off, and would also change my "auto-hide text chat" setting from on to off consistently, and it became very frustrating, as fullscreen mode would take a minimum of thirty seconds of all monitors black screened when alt tabbing, to revert back to normal. Here's what I did to resolve this... I typed "%appdata% into Windows search, opened the folder, navigated the following path; Bungie, DestinyPC, prefs; then with the game closed, I deleted the "cvars.old" and "cvars.xml" files. (These files should replace themselves). Then, I booted up Destiny, fixed the settings that were reset to default, including keybinds (it is helpful to make sure it's on the computer storage setting in game), and returned to see both files remade. From there, I checked the properties of both files and made certain they were NOT in "read-only mode," then applied the changes to each. Since then, I have not had the settings reset, and my game launches with no framerate cap and in windowed fullscreen as desired every time. Please note, this was a suggestion given to me by a friend who is very fluent in resolving issues like these. I do not claim to fully understand why it resolved the issue, please use at your own risk. I hope that if anyone else noticed this happening with their game, it may have helped. Cheers!
