Sunshot Catalyst
Two years, over 2K plus strikes, some PVP/Gambit here and there…nothing.
I don’t have any catalysts pending except for the excruciating Eriana’s Vow one.
What am I doing wrong? Bad luck RNG?

If you have any incomplete catalysts for other exotic weapons, that may be affecting it. I want to say that the catalysts you don’t have drop more frequently if you’ve completed all of the other ones you’ve earned.

Someone replied to a similar post that I made a few weeks back. They requested that I complete open catalyst quests that were incomplete and still pending. So I spent the weekend completing a bunch of incomplete catalyst quests. A week later my Sunshot catalyst dropped in a strike.

Took me forever to finish eriana and symmetry because I didn't do the quest during the season. I will never procrastinate again on seasonal caralysts. That being said, the whole year I had left those unfinished, I never saw another catalyst drop until I completed them. Then I got three in a row.

Took me forever to get that one. Quit playing for a long time and had to do quests for stuff like symmetry and erianas catalyst and finished both sequentially before catalyst dropped implying a good ~700+ strikes there alone. I believe I finally got it last season running a GM, but I also ran like 300 GM’s last season so yea drop rate is pathetic for a gun no one uses. I will say it felt like completing other catalysts I had not finished upped drop rate somehow or another like having incomplete ones I obtained was somehow negatively impacting drop rate.

Vow is a great catalyst. It’s not that bad of a grind and definitely worth it! I remember doing the sun shot catalyst. Escalation Protocol and blowing up thraw for hours. It was no picnic either.
