Program can't start due to mysterious missing file (win7, 8, 10)

Getting this error after battleye starts Windows 7 This has been reported on Windows 8 and 10 as well. Reinstalls haven't helped, replacing dll hasn't worked, reportedly upgrading to Windows 10 has had some success but also some failures. Patience is required, but silence isn't If you're having the same problem, please post here so we can keep the pressure up.         • There are some people having the same issues with Win10...I am lucky to not be one of them, but I AM wondering if the Win10 users having issues are operating the home version? I have 10 Professional and have seen no issues, but my friend runs 7 and now he can't even play. This is ridiculous - y'all paid for this game you can't even play anymore. I hope this gets fixed for you guys soon.

          • Please don't let this thread die...I also play on Win 7, and I thought the problem was on my end, so I uninstalled then reinstalled so there goes 8 hours of unneeded re-installation down the drain. Please Bungo, WIN 7 USERS ARE STILL HERE, and I was able to play fine until this Battleye thing, even though I always have low fps because my pc is trash.

                • gotta love a broken release of a season for 4 years running now and then they have the gall to charge 25$ for what should be a gift to the community for support and 80$ for the copy paste year for the third time in a row. You know how expensive 80$ is for whats usually 3 hours of content bungie? And lets not forget the cinematic cutscenes still caused crashes last season for win 7 users so they didn't fix that either.

                  • Same here. No luck with Windows 7 Pro. Reinstalled game from scratch but couldn't start it. Upgraded to Windows 10 and problem is gone. Now I can "play" the game without sound :/

                  • What unsettles me the most is that no BNGHelp accounts have come in to acknowledge the issue or affirm that they're trying to fix it. I get a dreaded feeling they're about to drop a "Win 7 is no longer supported" announcement and post an official "solution" that you need to upgrade to Win 10. Or maybe they'll leave it as an "we're looking into it" status like they've left the prerendered cutscenes stutter since Beyond Light launched. Nothing will be done for a couple weeks or months, and then ... *see previous action* Hope I'm being overly pessimistic.

                      verify file integrity on steam, after you delete the battle eye folder from your destiny folder, will work until you have to re launch the game... not a permanent fix... smh

                        Tengo el mismo problema mismo mensaje, Uso windows 7 (Según los requisitos del juego, corre perfectamente en windows 7 , 8 y 10 ) Nunca habia tenido problema con el juego, solo de repente los servidores llenos pero pocas veces...espero no estén pensado en cambiar estos requisitos para obligar a la actualización del sis operativo....... (algunas personas no nos cambios de sistema porque estamos acostumbrados y nos gusta este win (....Es seguro que es este programa nuevo que se les ocurrió incorporar el problema.....(Nunca había oído ​"BATTLEYE" ) es bueno eso de evitar a los tramposos...Pero les faltó probar si funcionaba bien en todos los sistemas que "nombran en los requisitos del sistema" ..Primera ves que estoy más pendiente de la nueva temporada, jugué hasta el final último minuto de la tempa 14 ....y espere pacientemente para entrara la 15 y me encuentro con este problema! es desagradable...BUNGIE Please! (hice todas las cosas desinstalar, reins talar, verificar etc....)

                          Windows 10 user here. Getting the same issue, as well as a couple of other people on the Discord server. We think it's probably a problem with the way BattleEye was integrated, partially because I briefly saw a message that popped on the screen too quickly for me to read anything but "Battle Eye", and also because there's something up with the launcher executable itself. Currently verifying the game files, which is going to take a while considering it's 70 gigabytes. If that doesn't work, I'm probably going to go with the suggesting people have made here to delete the BattleEye folder and repair the install from there. I'd rather not have to reinstall the whole game though, because that's going to mean finding a time I can leave the computer on for several hours while I'm not using it. I think the worst part is that I don't even care about PvP, and generally don't get along with what PvP-focus seems to do to the player base, so I didn't even care about the anti-cheat...

                            [b]Found an anti-virus problem on windows 10![/b] Apparently Immunet, which is a front-end of CLAM, thinks the new EXE is a virus, and it seems to be partially because of the way BattleEye is shoving itself in at launch-time. It's likely that other anti-virus softwares are doing this too, so check that if you're getting this issue!

                            • It seems to me that Bungie will not do anything, and since people want to play, they will have to change win7 to win10

                                • I buckled and upgraded to windows 10, which immediately fixed the issue. RIP Luckily you can still upgrade for free!
