Idea for shaders

It's a good idea

It's a bad idea

Bungie could change the way shaders work. Currently, each shader in the game consists of four textures displayed on the icon and one hidden texture. Jacarina, for example, has two black and two white textures, displayed on the icon, and a fifth texture, blue. You can see this on the Chroma Rush , for example. My idea is: separate each shader into its textures, which would turn Jacarina into five different shaders, and separate each piece of armor and weapon into color regions. Thus, players would select the texture by area of the armor/weapon and get greater satisfaction with the shaders. It would be possible, for example, to merge the golden texture of Calus's Selected with the black texture of Metro Shift and have a black and gold armor/weapon without having to wait for Bungie to release a shader that exactly matches the player's taste. I, for example, really like Metro Shift and use the Legacy's Oath mark on my Titan, but I don't like the silver color on the front of this piece. If this change were made in the game, I would put the black texture of Metro Shift on it, for example. The amount of combinations would be huge and I think it would complement the new transmogrification system very well. I currently have 220 shaders. With this modification, I would have a total of 1100 textures considering the hidden one of each shader. In a single piece of armor there would be five regions, so the total combinations for a single piece of armor would be 1100^5. It would be awesome! I'm not considering the repeating textures that I know some shaders have, but still the total amount of textures would be huge. You would also be able to select your favorite textures and have them highlighted in the texture selection tab, and each week, instead of a different shader, a set of five textures would come. What do you think of the idea? I don't know if something like this has been posted on the forum and it's the first time I've posted it. *I've been reading the comments and here are some changes and additions to the idea: - The changes would affect armor and weapons - Copies of the same texture would be removed: (Carbon Blodd and Rustberry have the same black texture, for example) - There would be some kind of coin to separate the shader into textures and we would earn some free coins via seasonal contracts. Something like the transmog. (This way, people would still spend bright dust or silver with shaders) - Texture categories to avoid breaking the texture rigging. (Cloth and Hard pieces, for example) - There would be shader presets: (We would have the presets that matched the current shaders and we would be able to create shader presets to change colors faster.) => Thanks to @alchemPyro, @The Rat King and @Lenskyj783 for helping to develop this idea. And thanks to everyone for all the positive feedback.
