That's it. It's getting so old that people that have bad internet connections get ADVANTAGES because they constantly teleport around and kill you and there's nothing you can do about it.
So much for connection based matchmaking!

I totally understand their reasoning for P2P, no matter where you are in the world, you and your friends can play together with relatively low latency assuming you're close together, people in regions where there are few datacenters (OCE) can enjoy the game, again, with relatively low latency. But it just doesn't work for PvP, you can keep P2P hybrid in PvE, but please we need dedicated servers for PvP lmao.
-
The matchmaking algorithm is awful and the lagging is constant. You reap what you sow Bungo.
-
Never ever gunna happen. If it was, it would have happened 5 or 6 years ago.
-
Thing is not a lot of people out side of bungie play or want destiny 2 and bungie do not care if the game is fun Luke is head of the fransais and wants it to be like fortnight bungie will not like me saying that but like at what is happeneing payed content in the dcv sunseting srl being repliesed by macking cakes 3 to 15 new guns a session but the in game shop gets 150 new things turning destiny 3s base game in to beuod light just miny games ever session people do not want that destiny 2 just gives you what bungie want not what you want and people have options mass effect legendary give you 3 games + 40 dlc s out riders has a 1 player option and ever has ben tolld by createos of the game we will allways be respected and the game will not sunset or volt content dreams lets you mack your own content and release it lots of destiny fan games on it even a destiny 3 fan game bungie needs to change its ways fast

Just wait until Season 15 when this "Streak" aspect takes effect. Think of it, you are spending your weekend playing Crucible, etc and have been playing for a while because the longer you are in the mode, the longer you are able to get better rewards.... Then you get Disconnected! Or a Power outage, etc. You lose all that progress. This is going to be so frustrating in Season 15 as well.
-
Now that this topic is dying down, I just have to say that I'm amazed at how good the game feels even during a soul crushing losing streak. It never felt like this before.
-
it does feel behind the curve. But I must admit, I think Bungie has some amazing engineers.
-
Its pretty much why I stopped playing until the next season starts, though honestly im thinking about not coming back at all.
-
It's been 6+ years at this point I get a little laugh out of these posts .
I haven't played in about a month
-
Dedicated server will just make the problem worst....people with bad internet won't start to not lag with dedicated server....and would be easier to abuse lag....
-
They have already said they will never do this. It was one of the reason I quit playing. You know, other than Bungie not listening, nerfing everything, sunsetting guns I worked hard for, constantly recycling content, broken matchmaking, hiding content behind a meaningless grind which is clearly designed to see how much time they can make you waste doing activities which they do not update and flat out ignore, etc……. I’m amazed anyone still plays.
-
we've been asking for this since d1.. ain't neva gonna happen. But things they can do... give us new game modes, give us crucible maps, fix the bs matchmaking, give us pure 100 % unadulterated CBMM, remove the 50 win/loss ratio bs.. and this game is 92% percent better immediately.
-
Nnnnnnnnnoooooo. It’s your bad internet. -bungie
-
Unfortunately you are just flogging a dead horse with the request fellow guardian. They will never go full dedicated servers it would be too expensive and excessive work for them, hell they added free to play access to all pvp so good decisions are not going to be made by those in charge of making them. The game would be shut down entirely before we saw dedicated servers implemented.

Edited by Gilzilla Angry: 7/13/2021 1:44:51 PMIt's common to see lagging or shooting through walls. (I ran 20/ 290MB/s (1GB), 20ms latency, 5ms jitter, NAT:open- port forwarded, cache cleared, hard-wired, solo client on router.) As long as Bungie wants non-regional pairing and employs a mostly peer-to-peer networking system, there is probably little they can do about this. Their unique networking system is complex, and CBMM doesn’t solve the associated problems.
-
Where do you start with PVP? It needs dedicated servers, SBMM and proper anti-cheat detection rather than Bungie relying on us reporting cheaters. Accept it and just play for bounties. Play other games if you want decent FPS multiplayer.
-
imagine thinking they care about your connection this late into the games life span.
-
It’s 2021. This is long overdue.
-
Nah, Destiny is just a cash cow for bungie until they finish their new IP. Why would they put in any extra resources than absolutely necessary to keep it going?
-
Completely agree. Peer to Peer and Connection based matchmaking only (sort of) "works" when the game has a large diverse population on whom to match you with. As soon as the population drops, they match you with anyone left in the world playing the game. TitanFall 2 only has about 6,000 people playing on the server (Oregon) I connect to and I never get crappy games with strobing unkillable teleporting players like Destiny has. But they have Regional Dedicated Host Servers and actually spent money to make their infrastructure good for the players.

Edited by DarkVision: 7/14/2021 6:53:52 AMWe introduce to you ... Destiny 2 . The only game in witch bad internet benefits you the most . Here in Destiny 2 we want you to enjoy some of the good stuff that bad connection provides : Lagging in crucible where you can teleport across the other people's screens and not being hit but still kill the other guy Various cheeses and glitches such as Net Limiting where you can actually do it on purpose to feel special in raids Here in Destiny 2 if you have bad connection you can enjoy the game as never before because we kick players with good connection with various error codes and blaming them for our trash servers Provided by the department of S*it F*ckery (Bungie)
-
All I can say is the game has been so bad lately its been almost unplayable at times, especially at reset. The past few hours have been a continuous "contacting servers", and I lost count how many times I was kicked to the start screen. It frustrating as F@uk
-
They wont do it. Its obvious they're only doing the bare minimum to keep this game functional except when it comes to Eververse. I think the real reason they did Transmog is because it would encourage more Eververse sales.
-
Matchmaking is the priority, it's so shit on PC that I stopped playing PVP
-
Lol they’re NOT spending that kind of time, money or resources on a game that’s over half way through its life cycle. Do you even realize what they would mean for this game? This hybrid system is built into the infrastructure. It would have to rewritten. Rebuilt. And this Tiger engine is over a decade old. It would takes months or longer to do. In short, IT ISN’T HAPPENING IN D2 chief. Let it go.
-
God another one of these posts? If they have dedicated servers they will have to maintain them. You want Bungie maintaining more? They can’t handle what they have on their plate now. It would be a disaster. I see this game going down constantly for days at a time. And why is it that people think having dedicated servers makes the game run flawlessly. It does not, look at games that do, they constantly have issues.
