Crash to desktop, no error message - Crash log: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Hi there,
I have been experiencing frequent crashes, which occur almost every session. It does not matter what I'm doing, fireteam or solo, in the menus or an activity, etc, the game will randomly freeze, then crash to desktop with no error message. Checking the crash log, which only 2 of 14 saved, the error is: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. I previously had blue screens/WHEA errors due to an unstable overclock, which will be visible in the logs, but that is unrelated to the Destiny crashes, and has since been remedied before I installed Destiny.
I'm not sure what to do to correct this, any help would be appreciated.
Specs:
Ryzen 9 5950x, Custom stable overclock (PBO)
ASUS Strix RTX 3090, factory settings
64 GB 3600 MHz Trident Z Neo B-Die Ram, XMP on
3 x M.2 drives, 1 for windows/apps, 1 for games, 1 for misc.
1300w SuperFlower Leadex Gold PSU

Were you ever able to get a fix for this? I have almost the same PC specs as you with the same issue occuring.

3 RepliesYour EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION seems to be the issue. This error can occur due to the GPU. You may want to reinstall the GPU driver. There are also two other methods you can use to solve this issue. Method 1: Perform a clean boot which eliminates software conflicts when trying to install or update a program as well as running a program in Windows 10.
