Season of Splicer story completion is not required. Vault of Glass is free for all to play, meaning that it cannot be locked behind seasonal story completion...

Do you need to? If it’s a requirement then why doesn’t it say that instead of required 1310 power?

Because most end game requirements require completing the story or any of these beginning seasonal content.
