Fully convinced Luke Smith hates everything relating to Forsaken

Just about every single gun and armor piece from Forsaken is now worthless The Dreaming City & Tangled Shore may as well not exist Everything relating to the Forges was completely removed, and I highly doubt that they'll ever bring back Ada Everything relating to Opulence was completely removed, and if the leviathan ever returns you can 100% bet the Menagerie wont come back Gambit has been changed so many times it's hardly the gamemode it was when it first came out, and 99% of all of it's weapons have been sunset, making it practically worthless to play So far the ONLY thing remaining from Forsaken that hasn't been eviscerated by Luke's grand vision has been Last Wish, and even then I doubt it will stay that way for long, it's foul how they're essentially charging 40 dollars for a raid and some exotics, since nothing else in the expansion is usable in the slightest

    • I actually don't think there was much good content from Forsaken. Sure the expansion with all the secrets in Dreaming City and such were neat, but there wasn't much content in BA, it was "throw ball at centerpiece", except Niobe Labs which almost no one participated in, and the Raid. Nobody seems to have liked SoTD, it offered almost no content and Reckoning was so tedious to grind for little and most times no reward. Opulence was a nice one with a lot of new stuff and an easy way to farm it, however the way to farm was so boring and tedious, even with the chest glitch it took forever to get a good roll because there were so many Tarrabah perks on the weapons

    • Of course, he hates it, it was the best expansion in this entire game and he had nothing to do with it so he can't take any credit for it. Luke's work is the base game and CoO that almost lost the entire player base when the game released.

Makes sense. Luke Smith is the game director of destiny 2 vanilla. Also know as a the worse version of destiny 2 ever. Then he release a worse expansion that is universally hated and he literally almost single handed destroyed the franchise with his “vision”. Then he gets benched. Then Christopher Barrett who has already cleaned up Luke’s messes in D1 takes over and is the game director of forsaken. THE BEST EXPANSION EVER. We get pinnacle weapons, a S tier raid. Random rolls and everything the community needed to come back after Luke smith shyt all over game. Luke Smith somehow is given back control of the game(WHY????🤦‍♂️)he nerfs everything. Removes pinnacles. Sunsets 3/4 of game. Does not put enough content in game to replace all that was taken from players. Now he wants to sunset supers. Yes he hates forsaken because it everything he is not capable of. Making a good expansion or even maintaining destiny at a level that the community is happy.

          • Wasn’t he the director for TTK though? That was basically the D1 equivalent of Forsaken.

I actually think that the new darkness supers are just going to be reworks of supers that he plans to remove from the light classes. Silence and Squall is just Blade Barrage with a lingering AOE And Winter’s Wrath is a 'Fixed' Nova Warp The odd one out is Glacial Quake, becasue it is just Fists of Havoc with obstruction spawning, and I don't think he'd remove that from the light classes. too Classic. There it is, there's his vision. Repackage what we already had. Just like the d1 item re-releases.

          • Forsaken was the best dlc content wise but not balance wise. The only balence issues we have is stasis and felwinters lie. Alot easier to fix then litteraly every gun in forsaken we don't even have ton count pinnacles and its still bad. Forsaken tried to revolutionize the game and people whined just like they doing with stasis. Every time the game quote en quote evolves the trash of the community devolves it and then blames Bungie for it. Not absolving Bungie of their foolish decisions but the community is responsible for 80% of the knee jerk changes.

          • it was proven with forsaken just how brilliant Christopher Barrett vicarious vision and co was compared to Luke Smith and his version of the game if the guy's at the top had any sense they would put Barrett back in charge if he still work's at bungie

            • The thing with Luke is he believes every decision comes with a "cost" that must be borne by the player-base. Especially if Bungie gives in to Community pressure and reverses direction, the change must have a COST for the player e.g. - Random Rolls for Legendary items over fixed: cost is you cannot pull a version from Collections, even to this day and the headline text for each item was changed to state that. But we could have had a default version of each unlocked Legendary item in Collections, like all Exotics have - Factions: people used exploits to farm Lost Sectors for Tokens to avoid the mid-numbing grind of Faction Rallies and when those were patched, complained. So Bungie effectively removed Faction Vendors from the game. Nobody wanted that... There are numerous other examples. If the community make demands they might get what they asked but it will always contain a hidden punishment from Luke

                • So then why is the playerbase buying dlc and silver? The only real change will come when Bungo sees those $$$ decline

                  • I don’t think he hates forsaken. I just think he’s convinced that he can make a fun video game that doesn’t have to rely on a loot grind for it to be fun. And he is sorely mistaken.

                  • So let me get this straight: My loading times now entering some areas of the game have gone from 1sec to 0.5sec. Updates copying is just as long as it used to be, SSD included/ceteris paribus. Loading in the tower or any destination and activity is just as long as before. I mean, wasn’t sunsetting activities/reducing the size of the game designed to make everything faster? Wasn’t that the argument all the sheep used to respond to players’ complaints?

                        • I actually think Gambit is in a good space. It's short like Prime with a rolling primeval buff like Prime but there isn't the "stand and shoot in the aura" mechanics and it's otherwise plays like a single round of regular Gambit. I think invasions are still too common but otherwise it's actually quite nice. Way better than old Gambit where people dumped the first round on purpose to get the catch-up mechanic in round 2.
