Suggestion for an adjustment to Gambit invasion mechanics
Gambit is a great concept and a fun game mode, no doubt. However, it would be far more consistently enjoyable with some tweaks to the invasion mechanics. I saw that the interval between invasions is going up from 10 seconds to 20 seconds in Beyond Light, which is a good start, but in my opinion it needs to go a little further.
Let's say you're on a team that's struggling early on. Your team's got a total of 12 motes deposited, the other team's just summoned their Primeval, and your bank is surrounded by hordes of blockers. So what happens next? An invader comes in, causing you to lose your 15 motes as you work to get those blockers under control.
I'm not saying this happens every game or anything, but why should it be able to happen at all? Why make an already unbalanced match that much more unfair?
Basically, I think there should be some sort of regulation on when invasion is allowed. Like, if your team has deposited 50 more motes than the other team, your invasion portal just shouldn't activate. Alternatively, the interval between invasions could get longer as your team gets ahead by a certain margin. The idea is that matches are simply more fun when they're balanced.
Anyway, that's all. Thank you for reading my suggestion.
