I might actually try this out... I've got a particular map that's really turning out well. It's awesome already, but I have some ascetic ideas to make it even better... I think I'll have to balance it out more, though. Maybe I'll hide all the power weapons sneakily so I don't have to get rid of any of them. I might enter both of the files on my file share - but 'Balance' needs more work before its complete. Some ascetic construction, perhaps. The other one, my first map ever - that one's almost entirely ready. It just needs more detailing work. [Edited on 10.14.2010 12:13 PM PDT]

Question: The map I plan to submit to the race catagory is VERY large, so much so that it works best if only one lap is used when played on. Is there any way to factor this in?

Eh, it got my hopes up. That's twice now us non-US residents have missed out on something like this. Can someone please explain why we are not allowed to enter? I cannot comprehend that there is any legal bindings which stop Microsoft or Bungie for that matter from compensating for fans who live outside the USA and have just as much reason to enter as any US citizen does. Please, someone elaborate. Other than that, good luck to anyone who enters, I guess. Make something nice, something I'll enjoy, something we can all enjoy. Don't blow your chances when so many of us are missing out on this. Cheers -K-

Does anyone know if we will have some degree of control over the gametype? Invasion might not have the same effect without that.

I suppose I'm out of luck if my map requires a specific game-type as well? It's a grifball-meets-infection-meets-dodgeball, plus anti-safe havens. Yeah, I haven't found the best way to explain it quite yet. [Edited on 10.14.2010 12:45 PM PDT]

great, A chance to enter my newly forged map into a competition! me and mates were just discussing what would happen if there was a chance it could get into matchmaking!! then I read the terms and conds as it say..... US only .. ¬.¬ pooft, there goes opportunity :/ when can we have a non US only competition? will there ever be one? prize or no prize, getting into matchmaking is awesome enough!! :D :O

Hey can I still submit a map? I live in Canada and I'm not really looking for a prize. I'd really just like to put my map to matchmaking. Anomaly is in for an extreme makeover to work with matchmaking.

If you do not live in the US you should still be able to enter, just not eligible for prizes, or something.

I'm going to add that I'm also disappointed the contest is for US residents only. It's not very fair.. why not limit the game to just the United States then? If you're going to have a global audience, at least give them an equal chance... there may be a very talented map maker using your forge feature, and you won't even know it because he/she does not live in the US. More than half of the people in this topic are already complaining about this. I really hope you reconsider, Bungie! I too am in Canada and would love to be able to enter.

Wow, there's a lot of potential gamers in CAN and EU that would make this much more challenging. Good thing I live in the U.S. I read the rules, and what stood out is that a map cannot be submitted in more than 1 category, but please help me clarify, [b]we can submit more than one map, correct?[/b]

I know that the article said enter one map into one of seven categories, but can you enter a map in more than one category?

Hey so are we allowed to supply our own gametypes, I am doing an invasion map and really I just want to change the loadouts. Certain crap only makes sense in certain situations right?

Why the hell can't they make it world wide and make the prize lots of gamer points? Having your map on Matchmaking would be prize enough anyway. Everyone already has an Xbox. What a stupid prize.
