iv spent over a year now pondering on what gambit needs to be a better mode, and this is something iv thought of my self. im a huge advocate of gambit but i dont play it due to many balancing reasons. one major issue is invaders there is no denying that, i dont care who you are are if you are a 4 stack or playing solo. invaders have such a massive advantage in almost every aspect of the mode. outright removing it though kinda kills a big portion of the identity of what the mode is. some solutions iv seen and agree with are. -remove wall hacks from invaders -remove heavy ammo from either invaders or in general. -invading costs 10 motes to use the portal from you. ( meaning you have to have 10 motes unbanked and collected. then you are allowed to use the portal.) -invaders can only kill players/deny motes up to 20. ( meaning if you kill a person with ten motes and then another with 15, you will be pulled out as you have denied the max amount allowed to deny. it makes planning out who your targets are going to be and who you should kill first in order to kill/ deny the most motes possible.)

    Banking motes to invade is a good idea, the other ones not so much. Absolutely crippling, and taking away part of the engagement for invaders. Taking out invaders as of now is not hard, if you know what to do. Don’t run back in a corner, and anticipate the invasion.

  • I like the 20 motes denied idea. I always thought that if an Invader goes through the portal it should shut down their team's bank.

  • I disagree with everything here aside from giving invaders a cost. But instead of the invader needing it on hand, why not have it spawn a 10-mote blocker on your own side? That way invading becomes a double edged sword of profit and sacrifice.

  • yea that wouldnt be bad, but im trying to think of how some dick heads are going to troll around. cuz unfortunately there are stupid people doing stupid stuff for stupid reasons and we need to be vigilant, and find a way to protect players. im afraid of dick heads just spawning blockers on there own team and dying over and over again. (intentionally.) maybe only you get one invasion per round? that way if you mess up you messed up and its some one else's turn, but idk cuz that kinda defeats the point of having invader gear if you only get 1 shot, but maybe it would be more of a risk idk, hard to say with gambit.

  • We already have invasions happen kinda slowly unless you spam a ton of portals around the end of the match
