What do you think is the biggest problem affecting the quality of the game right now and why? Please be respectful of others and their opinions. Might as well not waste your time with responses just calling Bungie a -blam!-. Feel free to comment other problems you think the game has (big picture things, not nit-picking) and also suggestions to fix these problems. See Spoiler for my opinion
Right now, I would really like to see armor 2.0 addressed. Masterworking is very expensive, especially considering the lifespan of seasonal armor (a related problem IMO). I’d also support making all armor ornamental. Lastly, having minimum caps for stats that armor can drop at for certain activities (to ensure you don’t get 50s from endgame content) would be nice. (Xur should also sell higher rolled armor).
• They really need to make some changes to the Armor 2.0 system. It was made out to be amazing and giving more freedom for builds, but it's far more restrictive than the old system. And masterworking costs far too much for how little it pays out. At least the old system would give you damage reduction when you masterworked armor.

Seems like most of those are parts of the overall issue. Kinda hard for me to pick what seems to be the worst Armor 2.0 was supposed to allow us to 'play our way' but it's simply restricts what mods we can use because of the elemental requirements on the mods. The 'themes' don't make sense to me, either. Bright Dust sources are too scarce and don't offer much compared to the work done compared to the cost of items sold for it. The items up for purchase with silver also seem expensive. FOMO definitely needs to go. It's manipulation straight up. Seasons seem to be not worth it, I'd rather the team work on maybe 1 or 2 quality expansions a year then this. Grind can be good, if the game is enjoyable and offers a worthwhile reward. Some games, like the Disgaea series or Diablo 3, do it well. Currently, Destiny 2 doesn't offer enticing rewards. Grinding exp for an artifact that we know is going to just vanish, why bother focusing on it? That cap for power just creeps upwards, why bother with pinnacle rewards? Grind for armor every season just to be compatible with current mods? Why not make seasonal mods go into the general or specific armor slot? In regards to recycling content... 'variety is the spice of life' Rotate a wide variety of activities. So far, it's a horde mode and a second form of Menagerie. What about having an SRL event or an obstacle course specific to class? Maybe a PvP match where we're armed with pies, or a full contact sports game.

  • Of all the things I think Destiny 2 did right and wrong, one of the most egregious things it has done wrong in my opinion is that it fell into a similar trap to the one D1 did about it's grind except worse in one big way. To be frank, farming and playing the game means nothing in the long run if the gear is set to become worthless or grossly ineffective at some point. The Oxygen SR3 (I love the gun but lets be real, it's mediocre at best), faction rally everything, BOTH Solstice Sets, Osiris and Warmind Weapons (particularly the former, it hurts thinking about that), and most Raid gear, all of which required tons of time and effort and ultimately led to zero payoff. As a PVE player first I find it hyper frustrating, especially in the wake of weapons like Recluse and Luna's Howl and how they were before their much needed nerfs when their perks essentially negated entire weapon archetypes because of how effective they were. No player should ever have to ask, "Why am I even grinding for this?" or "Why did I even go for this" in a game built around loot, especially if the new plan is to have content go away and most of the newest stuff being locked behind a paywall. I don't see how it is sustainable in any way. I thought D2 would change and learn from D1's mistakes but 2 seasons post Shadowkeep and I just can't defend it much longer. I rarely even see Vex Offensive and Shadowkeep weapons anymore but at least the titles and ships are cool, right?

    • The armor can be alright but it feels like I can’t withstand enemies damage. I had my titan have enemy resistance perks and it didn’t make any difference so I started focusing on getting ammo perks for crucible, strikes and gambit. I wish they would make the damage resistant perks feel like there working so I can survive longer or reduce the damage the enemies can deal

    • Wow people opinions are actually pretty evenly distributed aboutbwhats wrong. That's not great for Bungie for sure. I personally think the time required/cost for masterworks armor sets is worst with Eververse being #2 and that seems to be the consensus among other D2 players as well.

    • The masterworking process is too lengthy. These processes should not be endgame content.

      • My biggest issue is exclusives tied to specific content, in my case gambit. It might be the worst game mode in any shooter I've ever played.

Biggest problem since the beginning of Destiny is the servers for crucible. Too many laggy players with big differences in connection speed giving you different responses when you fire at them. On one player you get perfect headshots while another players tanks all shots and takes no damage because he is not at the point where you think he is.

          • I agree with some of the things in the poll. But when it comes down to it, my main concern is with technical issues. The slow loading screens, Placeholder icons showing up when switching screens, The lag and dropped frames, The many bugs introduced this season. I fear that the game may be getting away from the devs. The one thing that keeps me coming back to destiny 2 is that the gameplay is solid. When that begins to decline, I become skeptical about the games future.

            • The problem is Luke Smith and his gang of player haters. The control of the Destiny franchise should go to any other company that does/did similar games and high chances we'll see improvements and positive changes in less than few months, specially if the company really cares for the players.

              • Other; 'Technical' issues. The poll items can be impacting, but there has been a definite drop in quality with performance on consoles since 2.6.0.1. These issues will persist and impact every player regardless if they like X, Y, or Z.

              • This seasonal stuff is my biggest concern. I have little to no interest in anything the seasons offer and they are killing off the content I do care about, so they can develop more "horde mode" grindfests. I don't want a pointless goal post shift every few months. I don't want to play content that is mind numbing just to get gear I'm inevitably going to immediately turn to shards. I don't want to engage with "challenging" content/modifiers with an ever shifting meta and dependency on weapons/perks dictated by an artifact that, yet again, offers me nothing I'm interested in. I don't want to run the same raid for a year, particularly when that raid has some of the least engaging loot and mechanics I've ever seen. I don't want to feel like I have to go back into Gambit/crucible/strikes every 3 months just to get another weapon that I'll turn to shards. I don't want to have something "new" every week, making me feel like I HAVE to engage with it. Last season, I think the barebones nature was kind of ignored because we had Shadowkeep content along with the season. Now the Shadowkeep content is all done and the season has to stand on its own legs. The only really great thing from this season has been our interaction with St 14, the mini cutscenes, etc. I want more of that! And on top of that, I don't want to have a taste of that only once a week! I want to enjoy it, not be blue balled for a month before getting yet another unsatisfying conclusion that is just leaving the door open for future development.

              • Other: there are so many bugs atm in this game that it is cancelling people's progress. (Gambit emblem quest, obelisks, broken weapons, error codes, old quests not working) atm that is my biggest issue in the game.

              • The community expectations and laziness over all else. But beyond that it would be mindless grinding with lack of story. I mean we can't even get voice acting on quest steps....

Grinding in all its various incantations. *2.5 months we’ll probably get a bump to 970 light, so there’s almost zero point in running pinnacle activities. * Seasonal artifact will get ditched for a new version, complete with new weapon and armor metas. * No real incentives to go beyond rank 100 other than a triumph and the occasional engram containing past seasonal crap. * Another new set of 2.0 armor to grind and masterwork. Again. * Season of ... whatever. Doesn’t matter, we’ll get maybe one new activity and a few quests. 3 more ritual weapons that suck and another round of nerfs to previous pinnacle weapons. * Crimson Days, which will be another over-hyper, underwhelming and ridiculously grindy event.

I personally don't like the way they're heading in terms of weapon balancing. They've nerfed every single pinnacle weapon. The Recluse nerf was it for me. I understand they're trying to ad difficulty spectrum but I ground out these weapons. I don't appreciate my free time being wasted.

                • The loot pools are also a huge problem in my opinion,Zavala and Shaxx need new weapons added(not just ritual weapons) to their loot pools and new sets of armour(the ones they have now should be ornaments) and the same with Iron banner which we are getting the same updated armour set for the third time.People have been asking for proper strike loot like in D1 which made strikes worthwhile. The 2 dungeons should've had their own armour and weapons themed on that dungeon(hive themed for pit of heresy, taken themed for shattered throne) not just destination loot it would've made me and a lot of other people wanna do them more. Not forgetting planetry vendors which have had no updates since D2 launched except for bounties. They haven't even updated all of the year 1 weapons yet either but eververse gets new items for everything(transmat effects, ghost projections, emotes ect..).I understand eververse helps make more money when people buy items(I have quite a few times myself) but I don't think it needs a full update of everything every season in my opinion.
