What do you think is the biggest problem affecting the quality of the game right now and why? Please be respectful of others and their opinions. Might as well not waste your time with responses just calling Bungie a -blam!-. Feel free to comment other problems you think the game has (big picture things, not nit-picking) and also suggestions to fix these problems. See Spoiler for my opinion
Right now, I would really like to see armor 2.0 addressed. Masterworking is very expensive, especially considering the lifespan of seasonal armor (a related problem IMO). I’d also support making all armor ornamental. Lastly, having minimum caps for stats that armor can drop at for certain activities (to ensure you don’t get 50s from endgame content) would be nice. (Xur should also sell higher rolled armor).
• Is Bungie an option? Really Bungie is the issue since they ignore virtually everything that's an issue with the game and just keep adding more and more stuff that people have issues with. It's not easy picking just one thing since there is so many problems and all of those problems could be fixed if Bungie stopped acting like Bungie.

  • The biggest problem is self entitled millenials that think the should get everything they want instantly. And when they complain, they are automatically right, should be praised, and given everything they demand. Go play fallout 76 or Anthem.

        • Iron Banner is always Control. And as we all know, no one wants to play objective in Control and yet the people who play Control like Clash also aren't good enough to win the match solely via kills, so basically it's always 5 potatoberries deciding to neither take zones nor get kills. With a built-in mechanism to shorten the game prematurely with howls, and a broken mercy system that won't even give a team a chance to stage a comeback. I just lost my first IB match, left the lobby, restarted matchmaking, and flew into a match where the opposing team had more than double the points of my team and all zones controlled. I got shot in the back repeatedly because teammates don't know how to guard each others' backs, I narrowly missed killing an enemy at critical because a teammate chose to rush after the person instead of shooting them, and got in the way of my arrow I had pointed at the enemy's head, spawned into a tiny corner right beside an enemy slide shotgunner, and team let the enemy take all three zones _again_. JFC, just make IB Clash only already.

          • In D1 the game for me was about getting new weapons to try in pvp. Pvp is terrible now. The special ammo economy is totally broken. They had it just right for 1 week - when they switched away from double primary before forsaken launched, so there were no armour mods that let you pick up tons of special from each brick. Now the game is rubbish in pvp. I'd take double primary over what it is now.

            • The games economy is a bit wonky, Most people aren’t looking for a second job. Certain bugs that seem to constantly plague the game (EDZ Obelisk, etc.) armor 2.0 is a good start but it’s kind of excuted in an unfriendly fashion with masterwork costs, gear affinities and the fact we have to regrind a set for a new season. Anything unique and worth having exists within the eververse and it really sucks. I’d rather pay a sub fee and have the game be consistently supported. I get it, you can buy anything but the finishers with bright dust but the way to cycles through what’s available is BS cause we may not even see some of the things. Like with the dawning armor. Yah it’s available for bright dust. But hell we are already on the second week and we still haven’t seen it. So good luck getting the whole set without dishing out 15 bucks

            • I feel like the amount of stuff behind Eververse is the biggest problem IMO. After looking at all the stuff only payable for Silver and Bright Dust, about 80% of that stuff should really be earnable through the obelisk rankup and season pass.

            • Literally every single thing. None of these mistakes would be made if the developers cared about their players or have even the slightest shred of competence. I'm betting it's the former as I doubt it is possible for an entire group of people to consistently make the incredibly stupid decisions that Bungie has been making for an entire year now. Unfortunately we will have to wait until Destiny starts to die to either get some quality content from Bungie, or for Destiny to be sold to a company that can actually do its job correctly.

For me it's multiple things. Armor 2.0 is a nice idea, but with it's implementation, and the fact that you effectively lose it every 3-4 months now, makes it just about pointless. I'm NOT casual (in that I play a minimum of 20+ hours per week.) Last season I didn't have a pass. I barely got to seasonal rank 50 and it took about 1.5 months to get a 'decent' gear set together (50+ stat points per part.) I don't think I had the mats to get them much past half way. This season, due to the sale, I have the pass. While I'm now nearing rank 50 in about 50 played hours, I'm JUST NOW getting gear with 'good' stat levels (60 stat points per part). I've barely got the first piece to like 6 of 10 and with as slow as I get upgrade components I find it doubtful I'd masterwork more than a couple of pieces by the end of the season. Now, maybe I'm doing something wrong. I am solo, so I don't have people to do bigger events like raids, and I can't do things like higher level weekly nightfall runs because they don't do matchmaking for those at all, but if you are going to have seasonal gear, and it's going to supposedly be a benefit to have multiple sets, the drop rate of "good gear" would have to be about 10x what it is from what I've seen. Again, maybe I'm doing something 'wrong' as Dato put up a stream with full masterworked 70+ stat gear at max season rank, as well as another youtuber I follow showing max seasonal rank already. I compare these seasons to something like Path of Exile seasons. In PoE you are expected to completely restart your character, level up, get geared, and do end-game content. The difference is a 'casual player' (10-15 hours per week) can hit max and start looking for gear in a couple of weeks. A 'speed runner' (someone who gets to end game quickly) can hit max level in about a day and start farming gear immediately. With the drop rate there you are changing out "good gear" every hour or so until you get your 'god set'. With the drop speed, and time to upgrade "good gear" in Armor 2.0 it's WAY too slow. AND, honestly I'm not even sure it really matters outside of the 'uber build'. For someone like me who's like, I would like to get faster speed and handling with hand cannons, such a system is completely crippling if I try to put seasonal effects in because I lose all progress I had in the previous season. I'm seriously wondering at this point if I should just do something like get a solid set of Tangled Shore gear and masterwork that and then use that until I'm seeing 60+ stat drops in the season because the seasonal boosts just don't seem to have a huge impact in what I'm doing. Yes, I have a builder and spender for 'charged with light' for this season, but I don't really know that is making a critical impact. I don't yet have the drop healing orb mod, but honestly since I main exotic hand cannons, and those can't take that mod, I don't know if that will matter. Edit from another reply... I also tend to only play my Hunter, because I really hate the movement of Titan and Warlock. It could be there's some loss by not doing weekly x3 and staying on one char and doing just regular after the weeklies are done on that one. If anyone has numbers on that, maybe that's a way I'm not being... as efficient?

              • None of the above. They are all small problems when the largest issue is... there is no reason to grind. Why are you all grinding? The gear is okay... but you don't need it to clear any content as its all incredibly easy. You don't need to invest into armor 2.0 still because the game isn't built around it. There is no challenging end game that keeps you coming back to work on and try to get better at the game.

              • My only issue with the game is the material economy seems pretty flimsy. For example theres a ton of mods but not a very good source of mod components, it costs 250 gunsmith mats to buy 1 mod, thats 84 dismantled pieces of gear for 1 mod. Granted you can get most mods from drops but these new dawn mods will require 1000 dismantled pieces of gear to buy them all which i think is bit much when you consider the mods will most likely only be around for 3 months.

              • Bungies decision making with quest steps. Locking iron banner behind rocket launcher kills is garbage. Trying to get heavy ammo is a pain and just makes this part a poor decision on their part.

              • My interest in Destiny has waned to the point of occasional playing, instead of the daily playing I used to do. With the Seasonal content being temporary, instead of desperately grinding out the gear before it leaves, I’ve just decided to stop playing. The temporary model doesn’t work for me, I want content I can access at my leisure. Destiny is no longer a game for me.

                    • Honestly? All of the above could use tweaking, adjusting or improvement in some way shape or form. Armor 2.0 would be the one I think needs the most immediate refinement though. Considering it has the most influence over a character's build, but is also hindered by a number of design flaws. Seasonal mod slots need to be universal across seasons. Chasing after the new mods every season leaves little incentive to masterwork any armor. While focusing on master working a long-term set of armor means ignoring all of the new mods and armor. The former option isn't appealing because it makes the master working system all but pointless. The latter option isn't appealing to players because it means missing out on the new stuff, and isn't appealing for Bungie because those players aren't going to try out the new stuff. Armor affinities need an overhaul. Removal entirely would be ideal, but removal from exotics should be a bare minimum to aim for. Because exotics are enough of a hassle to deal with even before having to worry about whether they're useful to any particular load out. If they're not entirely removed then rerolling affinity should at least be a must. I don't care if it couldn't be done until an armor is master worked or if it costs 5 cores or even a prism, but it needs to be an option. Stat totals need to be reworked a bit as well. Because as they are right now 90+% of drops tend to be utter garbage. - Blues should be the only gear that drops sub-50. Legendaries that drop sub-50 are worthless. - General world Legendary armor should drop with stat totals no lower than 50, and be able to drop up to the stat total cap. Even if it requires a little more grinding than more difficult activities the chance should still be reasonable. That or general world Legendary armor should have universal ornaments unlocked in collections. Because there's a lot of nice-looking armor in the game with no reason to wear for stats. Not to mention all of the unobtainable armor some people worked for. - Challenging activities should drop stat totals no lower than 60 to make the gear that drops from them worthwhile to chase. - Pinnacle activities should drop at 70 (which I assume is the stat total cap). Give a meaningful reason to chase after this armor by removing one aspect of the RNG so players can focus more on chasing stat distribution and affinity by rewarding the extra effort.

                    • Every point is an issue. But the fact that Bungie dictates what to play, and what gear to use is a huge problem for me. They should also have more interactive mechanics in both strikes and boss fights. Wipe mechanics, interrupts, debuff removals etc. Better ranking system, and matchmaking for PvP. Leaderboards for strikes or nightfalls. And also increased difficulty for players who meet certain score thresholds. Proper rewards for hard achievements, rare and unique sparrows, ships, ornaments and titles. Rare World bosses with rare loot drops. New vendors with random roll weapons that can be bought. Bungie should also improve the progression system. To get higher light just for the sake of it is boring. You need proper content all the way, higher power level should be a bonus not a goal.
