Which do you prefer and why?
I prefer English Dub.
The most obvious reason being so that I don’t have to take my eyes off the action to read.
-
I like dubs on anime With wall or speed subtitles because it’s a pain to keep pausing to read them So I usually watch dubbed unless the shows brand new then I watch new episodes subbed
-
Dubs. I pretty much only watch anything as I lay down for bed. If it’s subs, I’ll fall asleep too quickly.

Edited by shell: 10/18/2019 11:00:49 PMUsually the English dub isn't spectacular, but I still prefer it over the sub most of the time. Only exception has been One Punch Man, Saitama's English voice actor doesn't really capture the character at all. Shout-out to the Black Butler dub, though. Ciel, Sebastien, and Grell in particular have some absolutely fantastic English voice actors.
-
Depends on the anime and if I’m showing it to someone. It might be easier for someone less depraved to keep up if it’s in English.
-
The only anime that are are acceptable to watch dubbed is pokemon. Dubbed anime just sounds wrong, and the voice acting is usually pretty trash
-
Sub by far. Though I have been watching bebop in English. I will say, I accidentally walked into highschool dxd without knowing what it was and the English dub is more enthusiastic needless to say, I don’t watch the show anymore. But Demon Hunter is good
-
I dont watch anime, but if I watch a foreign movie, I watch it dubbed.

Read faster. Seriously though, most dub is really not that good. The dubbing studios dumb it down for us idiot Americans and the voice acting is not on par with what it deserves. Don't get me wrong, I love a well dubbed anime, which is why I think animes like Cowboy Bebop are a classic.

Edited by Industrial-Grade Catgirl: 10/18/2019 12:32:51 AMI like DBZ dub, but JoJo sub EDIT: also cannot forget FMA dub
-
Dub, anime is already cringe so I'd rather go all the way with it. How else would I have such great gems like coconuts-ui I MEAN FOR THE EMPEROR! DIE ELDAR!!!
-
DBZ dub OPM dub Everything else sub
-
... Dubbed hentai is way less disturbing than sub hentai...
not included in the DLC
-
Eh doesnt matter.
-
Older Funimation or VIZ dub when convenient. Started switching more to subs once the recent Funi drama happened.
-
Sub, even if the dub is better.
-
Always dub mainly because I'm a casual watcher. Not to mention in general I like to actually watch a show or film rather than sit there having to read as well.
-
Sub. Even if the dub is great, I’ll watch the sub, because my eyes are used to darting back and forth from the subtitles to the rest of the screen. I rewatched Castlevania recently and it took me a little while to get used to not reading subtitles.
-
Some animes I don't really care if it's dub or sub (like DBS but I watched the sub since the episodes weren't out at the time) Some I prefer the dub like dragon maid (tohrus voice is too precious okay don't judge me) And I prefer the sub for JoJo cause ORAORAORAORAORA
-
I pretty much never watch anime on my own time, so it’s just kinda whatever my friend chooses when he drags me along to watch one.
-
It depends on the anime. I was mostly a dub guy back when I was buying anime on dvd. Now that my main source of anime comics from streaming services, I’m mostly a sub guy.

Edited by Pie: 10/17/2019 11:41:14 PMPeople who vote dub should get E X T E R M I N A T U S because dubs are -blam!-ing heresy. E: Still heresy 🤣
-
Edited by cRaZyT101: 10/17/2019 7:38:02 PMDepends. AOT I couldn't stand the dub, but I love the JoJo's and Prison School's dubs. Typically I'll watch sub, but occasionally I'll watch dub.
-
If I want to read, I'll pick up a book
-
It all depends. I prefer dubs so I don’t have to read any more than necessary. But sometimes subs just sound cooler.
