As a year 1 player, i really miss the feeling of running 3x VOG 3x Crota 3x Nightfall, for that small chance of getting the exotic i want. I understand that this might be way too grindy for a majority of players, but considering how many different playstyles the game supports nowadays, i think its fair to show us RNG fans some love too.
What you did with 1k Voices was excellent. A really challenging raid (if you didn't chesse it), followed by a unique exotic that everyone wanted. I loved running this raid. But now, every exotic is a quest. There is literally 1 exotic weapon thats RNG in Shadowkeep. And it's not even a new exotic, its from Destiny 1. Introduce some new exotics and make them RNG rewards. Some from every activity, and some exclusive to certain activites, such as Jotunn. (which you also made into a quest. And no, i didn't even get it, and i'm still mad. I'd rather grind for a chance than do 5 weeks of grind)
It would also be great if you made old exotics RNG for certain activities. This would make old activities relevant again. There is literally no reason for a new player to do old activities. Make Forsaken exotics exclusive to Forsaken activities, and you'll get a better game with more relevant content. All of the previous content isn't really much to brag about to a new player when there is no reason to do it.

I personally enjoy exotic quests over just rng based drops. Exotics are unique weapons that you want to build a play style around. Being locked out of possibly the right gun for how you want to play by rng just isn’t a fun experience. This way I generally know what the exotic is before grinding the quest and can choose if I want to invest my time in completing it. I still have a few like Truth that I’m not bothered in grinding for. From what I can tell chasing high rolled stats on armour, and enhanced mods are the new things to grind for. This is the new reason to do raids, nf and end game pvp over and over.

Yeah no, rng for raid exotics is busted and bad for raiding, most people would rather have their work in the raid mean something rather than hope they get it the 100th time they do the raid

Raid exotics? Keep them as quests. In D1, the only fully RNG raid exotic was Vex Mythoclast. The other three raid exotics had quests. Then at D2 launch, the Acrius has a quest. But then for whatever reason Bungie ditched doing quests for raid exotics for all of D2Y2, which I think was pretty stupid. Why go backwards? Raid exotics are suppose to be the best, so keeping them behind RNG is a bit of a pain. I do think though that the quests for raid exotics have been really weak in D2. In D1 you found a common weapon and evolved it into an exotic for the Necrochasm, you scoured the Dreadnought for calcified fragments in order to gain the knowledge of how to build the Touch of Malice, and you solved interesting puzzles to unlock the Outbreak Prime. But in D2? Lol go do this random strike to get the Acrius from some Cabal. Lol go kill some Vex then finish the raid once for the Divinity. Other exotics though, I agree that we should have more that drop from RNG. Nothing matches the feeling of finally getting that Gjallarhorn to drop in D1, or any other exotic that Xur seemed to never sell. I know I felt just as hyped about finally getting my Thunderlord to drop as my Gjallarhorn.

PRNG is played out. No one wants to get kicked in the -blam!- 100+ times with nothing to show for it, and running raids and not getting a weapon is basically the same thing.

I agree with this

Very nice. As a year 1 veteran I agree.

Definitely agree! Speaking straight facts man. Hopefully they do something about it.

very nice man, destiny is sucky sucky with Quests. For real tho i just dont even want to spend my time doing them TBH. I want it do be unpredictable. Makes the game more fun i think.
