Luna's Howl is still a problem top of the meta
Nothing has changed, the nerf improved things just a tiny little bit...but as you can clearly see from the stats Luna's Howl is once again top of the meta by a long mile and [b]once [u]AGAIN[/u][/b] it's mostly a handcannons meta.
I'm really sick of this, with very few exceptions (a handful) almost every single time it's either Luna's Howl or Last Word or Not Forgotten or Trust or Service Revolver.
Why do handcannons have such a privileged position in Destiny PvP?
It seems like the sandbox team doesn't care about getting diversity in the crucible.
There're such a potentially good weapons out there and yet the truth is that handcannons are favoured, it's too easy to get kills with those handcannons. I'm definitely far from being a handcannon fan and yet once I had the Luna's Howl it was EASY MODE ON. Easy! So steady, little or no recoil and huge damage even at silly range. I was stupidly getting kills even when I was drunk.
Bungie needs to do a better job to offer equal opportunities to different weapons. I'm so sick of seeing Luna + Dust Rock Blues all the times.
The Crucible is literally full of hunters which spam 3-tap handcannons and slide everywhere shotgunning.
I personally no longer use it and I decided to snipe more (something that's actually challenging and rewarding).

This is a pinnacle weapon and should feel stronger then normal ones. Hand cannons sit at the revered slot because they are the hardest primaries to use. Spraying forgiving autos or pulses or sitting at the back of the map with scouts vs risming close range fights where missing a shot means you're dead should be rewarding. Also I love the clan: "Mind over meta" While rocking a one eyed mask titan + recluse + wardcliff and bygones with super mods. Its obvious you likely cant use cannons skillfully and 3xpect bungie to change things that arent broken because you take personal issue with not being able to use them #HonestTruth

I honestly think Crucible is as balanced as its ever been. Please note this in reference to weapons, not bottom tree striker and Wall hacks.

Sorry man but the nerf to luna was a very fair nerf. I went for recluse last week and i had a better time and more success using my trust HC over luna. I would say even a well rolled service revolver feels better than luna at times. I dont have NF but it still seems like a beast but it also got toned down fairly.

2 RepliesWhy? Because hand cannons feed an American fantasy (Old West gunfighter), and is loved by the pvp community and those at Bungie who were partial to pvp. Up until last winter, Sandbox and Weapons Design were led (and controlled) by Jon Weisznewski. When you’d listen to him talk about Destiny he’d almost always only talk about Crucible and and how his vision for it was this e-sport level game of map control and team shooting. IOW vanilla D2. He and the people he surrounded himself with also had a clear bias towards precision weapons and hand cannons. So the game was always being tuned so that they were the weapon class that rewarded skilled play the most...and any weapon that threatened their position got quickly nerfed. But now that Weisznewski and most of his lieutenants have left the company (since e-sports are never going to be a part of Destiny’s future...at least not as an arena shooter)....it’s going to be interesting to see how this impacts how the Sandbox is managed. Luke Smith has already warned us that a nerf to supers and how damage stacks is incoming as well as a buff to SRs. (Which were being held back to [i]promote[/i] more aggressive play) It’ll be interesting to see if we finally get a sandbox where all weapon classes are viable and Bungie stops thumbing the scale in favor of certain weapons and a particular designers preferred style of play. Which we’ve had five years of under Weisznewski and his allies.

It is a solid weapon.. but not THE weapon. 180s beats it’s range and ace of spades is far more superior. The not forgotten, however, is top tier. It has the range needed on said hand cannon and rpm.
