Do you have a history of eye sensitivity to video screens? On similarity though, fully agreed on more shaders having similarities to one another compared to pre-update. For example, in the source images I have linked, shaders r1,c9 r2,c3 r3,c9 (Vanguard Steel, Bray Inovation, Cargulo Bristle) have strong similarities to each other that make distinguishing them at quick glance very difficult. In fact, the Curse of Osiris Vanguard shader in the top row and Vanilla Vanguard shader in the bottom row look almost identical, save for the expansion icon in the corner.
