I forged a Destructible Door that explodes when u arm the bomb near it

  • I did something similar to that on my Pillar of Autumn Invasion map, except that I was using gated one way shields that disappeared after a phase. It's a very useful tool, it's one of the things I wanted when I was Forging in Halo 3.

  • Vlad, would this work in combination with [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_17j-KeEtU]a closing door[/url]? Like the defending the team can lock down an entrance and then team on offence have to blow it open. Though it would ultimately be pointless for an Invasion game to have to option to close a gate when it would be necessary to plant the bomb regardless D: [Edited on 10.25.2010 3:27 PM PDT]

  • I actually created this but make it so when you blow down the door you have to blow up a tank that is stuck it one place(to do this put a one way door facing down and put the tops of walls around it and tank on top!) you have to destroy the tank(or any other objective type thing) then after that you have to capture the elites base.

  • u should make it kinda like world of warcraft minigame were u play horde vs alliance and either team has to break into the other teams castle n kill the boss. basically 2 stages with the defending team having a clear advantage to defend with but the other team having a counter against it

  • I tried that too. The explosion from the assault bomb seemed to be masked in that instant by the structure that was still there. Edit: LOL, actually, I'm a little sore that you are getting credit for something I discovered almost two weeks ago when the Invasion tutorial went up. You MUST play as a spartan (Red team) for it to work. [/quote] Very smart. I'm applying the very same principle to a spaceship-themed map. A door is good place to start, but I think this is the most powerful tool Bungie has made available to us so far. Short of having a conditional trigger editor, this is pretty good too.

  • Nice work :D This has a lot of potential As well as a gate or bridge, you could use fallen rocks in a passage (a variation on the gate) or.. destroying a forged AA turret! It would be cool to have some weapon dispenser unit, like a vending machine, with weapons in boxes inside with a despawning piece allowing weapons to fall out after each phase :D

[b]Note: I did not have time to swap the bridge for debris, but I think you get the picture.[/b] Actually, you could rig it up to pretty much anything! Caves, buildings, pillar of autumns, statues of emile, statues of me etc...
