(YES I KNOW I SPELLED BORDERLANDS WRONG IN POLL AHHH) Lemme preface this with a warning everything I say will most likely not (Except for some statistics and things about games) be a fact and if you feel as if I said something wrong or have a different opinion feel free to comment. I have been seeing a couple posts about Borderlands "Killing" off Destiny (Or any looter shooter for hat matter). 2 of these games despite having the same premise, the execution of how these games are played is completely different. (I will split this thing into diff sections) 1: Loot 2: campaign 3: Content provided 4: Personal Opinion 1: Borderlands (2) has more 17.75 Million weapons and although this seems really awesome compared to destiny (which I am pretty sure has less loot). The 17.75 million is used as a critical point in saying as to why Borderlands is better than Destiny. Destiny may not have as much loot but it makes up for it by having of RR (Random rolls). RR gave destiny a purpose as to farm, despite getting the same weapon over & over the variations allowed for the player to collect the best gear for new endgame activities. Borderlands has a slightly similar system but not as much variation in weapons as Destiny has, but each weapon is useless once you get a more powerful one so you just need to keep on farming for the same "best" weapon over & over not that thats bad though I enjoy farming. You cannot infuse your favorite weapon to make it a higher level, you have to essentially replay the campaign 2 times(?) to start getting higher damage/level gear. (And in order to hit lvl 72 and be OP). 2 : Yeah borderlands campaign beats out destiny here sorry. As much as I love destiny's lore and how you get to explore through the grimoire to obtain new information as you progress through story, Borderlands wins me over, the characters are much more diverse (and comedic) and the game contains a plethora of things to learn about the story of pandora. As great as destiny is; borderlands just has a better overall story. 3: Content provided This part is hard to elaborate upon since you could say destiny's content is reused and repetitive, but in borderlands you have to replay the whole story twice... I would say destiny probably sustained me for a longer time but Borderlands has been super fun and does not feel as repetitive for some reason. 4: Opinion I love both games equally and it is super hard to choose what game is better so I will rank games now. (out of 5) Destiny: Social: 4/5 (raids, trials, strikes, nightfall e.t.c.) Solo: 2.5/5 (Game is boring by yourself unless you are doing quests) Content: 3.2/5 (Despite having alot to offer it is repetitive and can burn out easily) Fun factor: 3.8/5 (I wanna give a 4 but game is lackluster at times but when its good its good) Borderlands: Social:3.2/5 (This game feels like a solo experience to me with the exception of some content) Solo: 4/5 (Fantastic, great solo campaign that feels repayable) Content: 5/5 (Oh man between all the quests and missions you will dump many hours into this game) Fun factor: 4.7/5 (Your abilities stack and new weapons are always fun to use & farming is amazing) Feel free to comment your opinion

  • I'ma let you finish, but Borderlands had one of the best games of all time! One of the best games of all time! To me this isn't even a contest. Destiny, across 2 games is so lacking in story, content, and fun that there is no real reason to compare them any further. I mean look; -Which event choked you up more - The death of Cayde 6 or Bloodwing? Angel? -Which game did you actually want to kick the ass of the bad guy more - One of the raid bosses, Ghaul, or Handsome Jack? -Which side kick are you the most entertained by - Ghost or Clap Trap? -Which game can you get more immersed into without having to force yourself to keep doing the same ol same ol, over and over again, but likely get little to show for it in regards to loot let alone character progression? -Which game actually has dialogue that can make you laugh. Not just smirk a little, but out loud laugh? Again, no contest.
