Does anyone else miss running Riven legit?
Maybe I’m just a weirdo but I used enjoy the Riven encounter when Last Wish came out. The mix of light combat and communication that ramped up as you ascended the levels was exciting and fun to accomplish. But now everyone only wants to run the cheese, I gave up looking for teams willing to do legit runs a long time ago. Maybe this isn’t an issue for friend groups/clans but I’m a solo player and it’s killed most of the enthusiasm I had for Last Wish.
Here’s hoping Bungie intends to fix the encounter at some point. Please tell me I’m not on my own with this opinion?

I’m honestly not sure if I would even run the raid if there wasn’t a Riven cheese. Way too complicated and locks out players if they don’t know what to do.

1 ReplyInstead of asking for a fix , how bout just doing the raid with like minded people? You can do the encounter "legit" and after that you can praise each other on how you play the game "right". Problem solved yes?

It's not even a cheese is it? Its actually an in game challenge isn't it? I don't raid so someone will have to fill me in.

Nope. If you can run it legit, that’s awesome and you are skilled, but usually by the time I get to Riven I just to finish the raid and get my loot. So I’m okay with the cheese

I have never run it with the cheese. The Riven fight is honestly one of the more fun boss encounters in any Destiny Raid. It isn’t too complicated to get the mechanics down with proper communication.

Yea totally agree man... Not that ive ever done a raid in D2 ... But in D1 anytime the team would wanna cheese an encounter I'd try my best to convince them to do it properly and if not I'd just leave... Boring as shit, I'd much rather repeatedly fail and actually learn what to do...

2 RepliesHonestly last wish stopped feeling fun and satisfying to me specifically because of the riven cheese. I’ve tried finding groups to do it without the cheese, but no one joins me. I don’t blame them, more loot-less work. Just thought they’d have fixed it after LW came out. So basically, yeah, I miss riven legit a lot. It really was a helluva time.

I don't know if I should throw her name out there but there is a player - I think, Wicked Winnie (probably got it wrong) - she and her clan run it legit regularly. They helped me through it once and I have not unfortunately gone back to do it again with them, they all were very nice people. She is on the forums and hopefully will see your post, but if not, try looking her up and seeing if she would be willing to have you join up.
