Credit Resets
Good evening,
We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.
A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.
As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.
A more comprehensive pass will be occuring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.

[b]Edit 1[/b]: a point of clarification. No bans were handed out tonight for
a) Playing too much Gruntpocalypse (no such thing!)
b) Using the target locator too much (no such thing!)
Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via itentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)
Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.
[b]Edit 2[/b]:
1) If you have lost your Legendary Helmet or any other downloadable offers, you can re-download them via your Download History. We're not sure this is affecting anyone (we haven't reproduced it internally), but just in case it is, give this a try.
2) We won't be resetting Commendations, as we do not feel that the exploit used affected them. It would not be fair to people who did use the exploit but who wish to retain the record of their playstyle, and we cannot differentiate between the two systematically. Sorry.

Hello b.net forums. I'm one of the 15k people who got reset =) Why are people denying that they cheated so much in this thread? I reset my daily challenges in order to keep up with my older bro who played legit. Now I'm banned and he got to the max rank. Justice has been served sort of speak. If you wont reset everyones, please reset mine as a personal request. First off, its dumb to revert everyone without any ingame warning, or minor reset. Second I have reset my challenges 3 times at most from dcing over these last 2 weeks. d/cing in matchmaking games. I mean, come on. I enjoy halo, and every game of the halo series.I want to continue playing and enjoying the game as well as the ranking experience. But after all the commendations I have obtained makes it next to impossible to rank up, and I have been a recruit rank for awhile, playing matchmaking only. Seriously, if you are going to do some stupid drastic irrational thing like this, at least give us the small bit of mercy of resetting our commendations. I think its total bull that we cannot get our ranks back without playing hours and hours a day, when someone else can play 1 hour and get the same rank. It's plain dumb. Please fix this and just reset the commendations. I am already tired of playing because of this. That number about not resetting commendations is complete bull. Change it.

I surely hope this won't apply to me. My internet connection is in the process of being fixed, it has been an ongoing "fix" for almost two months with no end in sight sadly. Time Warner Cable sucks. I have proof from the cable company outlining how many times my connection has automatically reset itself. The sent me a 20 page report showing the dropped connections over the last two months. Almost 500 connection resets. It's a huge pain in the behind, but at least I have proof to show that my internet disconnects were not done intentionally :)

Whats a challenge reset? Seriously i don't know :(... And can you get banned for never spending credits and in over the course of lets say... a year, you saved up 1,000,000 credits (Legitly) or can you keep earning to your hearts content? Please don't tell me Bungie's banning people for playing too much Gruntpocalypse and using the ONI Sword Base target locator farming method. I haven't been banned yet but I've been using these 2 ways to get myself a lot of credits and I have used no "challenge reset" exploit.
