Credit Resets
Good evening,
We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.
A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.
As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.
A more comprehensive pass will be occuring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.

[b]Edit 1[/b]: a point of clarification. No bans were handed out tonight for
a) Playing too much Gruntpocalypse (no such thing!)
b) Using the target locator too much (no such thing!)
Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via itentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)
Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.
[b]Edit 2[/b]:
1) If you have lost your Legendary Helmet or any other downloadable offers, you can re-download them via your Download History. We're not sure this is affecting anyone (we haven't reproduced it internally), but just in case it is, give this a try.
2) We won't be resetting Commendations, as we do not feel that the exploit used affected them. It would not be fair to people who did use the exploit but who wish to retain the record of their playstyle, and we cannot differentiate between the two systematically. Sorry.

Not his fault if Bungie makes a faulty game that has different ways to exploit it. It is only against the rules if there is a set of rules that says it can't be done. Since Bungie made this game incredibly easy to farm and glitch cr, why should the player be punished--especially with out appropriate warning. Bungie should be ashamed of their actions and claim some responsibility for this issue rather than ban or reset loyal players who were never formally told that their actions could result in a ban/reset.

@jaymynemesis U proved my point lady, this isn't about me affecting ur in game experiance at all, I don't care about the rank system, show my trueskill. I don't give a damn about bragging rights cuz I just prefer teabagging. Anddd I don't care about you guys being all but hurt about not "earning armour legit" because I'm not maliciously affecting your game experiance. I never 10th lobbied in MW2 and I'll never do anything to give myself an unfair advantage in game, as far as out of game or aesthetics go I could care less how I get them. Calling me a douche for stating that my sweet armour didn't help me in game is uncalled for, and me ruining ur game experiance due to me being a higher rank than u...that's called nerd rage little girl...u mad. What's gonna be worse for u, getting teabagged by a colonel or a recruit? Either or I'm still gonna sleep good at night...

So if you went into, say, Hollister, and stole a nice shirt you saw, then were caught, you'd just put on the nerd glasses, ingest some phlegm, and say "well you see here, when I entered the store, not one employee gave me a warning that my actions were reprimandable. Can we just forget this happened and let me go back to what I was doing five minutes before this whole incident?" You cheated. I didn't even play this game during the challenge reset glitch, so I didn't even know it existed until I read about the reset. I laughed pretty hard when I saw some of these posts. Nobody cares about you. Nobody cares about your rank. You got caught, now deal with it. It's one thing to use the target locator. You had to pull some strings on the game mechanics, yes, but you didn't have to completely change them to do it, and it dealt a minimal amount of credits after a while. Challenge resetting doesn't make you cooler.

But i never got any in-game warning that i will be banned, nor did i read any threads or recieve any messages about this 'banhammer' because im pretty god damn sure i wouldn't of done it in the first place plus i was still working my way around he site, from recently signing up to bungie.net becuase my brother 'Dropship Dude' recommended it to me so i could keep track on my credits and view my friends leaderboard. So i apologize Bungie, but could you please reset my rank and credits. Maybe not to back to Major, becuase i did start using the challenge glitch from the rank of Captian. If you just play Gruntpocalypse a lot or used the Target Locator glitch on Sword Base, you should be fine.
