Credit Resets
Good evening,
We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.
A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.
As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.
A more comprehensive pass will be occuring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.

[b]Edit 1[/b]: a point of clarification. No bans were handed out tonight for
a) Playing too much Gruntpocalypse (no such thing!)
b) Using the target locator too much (no such thing!)
Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via itentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)
Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.
[b]Edit 2[/b]:
1) If you have lost your Legendary Helmet or any other downloadable offers, you can re-download them via your Download History. We're not sure this is affecting anyone (we haven't reproduced it internally), but just in case it is, give this a try.
2) We won't be resetting Commendations, as we do not feel that the exploit used affected them. It would not be fair to people who did use the exploit but who wish to retain the record of their playstyle, and we cannot differentiate between the two systematically. Sorry.

i boosted half a rank people who say bungie were good with the ban hammer are dum thay do not realise what its like for us im alloud an hour a day on my xbox i spent all that time on reach playing ligit apart from about 40 minits please bungie reset my comindations or please give tho other players your going to ban a warning

(2)Though it was and still is an exploit, challenge resetting never influenced the matchmaking experiance, therefor not ruining the gaming experiance for the community. Unlike MW2, where leveling afforded a competitive advantage and 10th lobbies resulted in wall hacks, unlimited ammo etc, challenge resetting resulted in no in game advantages. (3) In my opinion, as long as what Im doing doesn't affect anybody in game, then what's the problem...Halo Nerds, U MAD I had cool armour? U get butthurt that my KD is over 1? Now I'll play the game Bungies way, MM all day every day with u butthurt nerds...who's mad I had cool armour? The Halo Nerd community, U MAD LOL

reason i have so many kills is because im a boss at the game. im not an MLG Pro (other wise i wouldnt need these jobs) i play between 2-4 hours of MM a day depending on the daily challenges, and i get them legitly and not a million times like u.

ok so you work 2 jobs wich is good for you but looking at how many kills and all that you have you have no life 6300 kills you must of played alot of time to get them so how long to you play on your xbox for (per day ) ow and im a cheater/booster am i so am you looking like you have been boosting juat as much as me.

I admit, hit the cap, and stopped playing for two days. I wasn't all that high a rank, warrant officer 2 or something, but that was time I could have used with friends or playing a different game... I gave bungie my time, and they gave me a ban. BTW, I'm done posting this thread, I'll just be reading from now on, this is great stuff. 'Cause there are people -blam-ing about how they lost their rank, and I'm back up to seargant XD

I for one agree with the credit reset people aparently think bungie is ran like a crappy company aka IW which just dosn't give a rats ass if people boost, hack, exploit but the truth of the matter is bungie saw there was problems so they fixxed it and if it took out 15k players that were cheating then so be it. Look at what has happened to all other online games that just sit there and let there users do whatever they want they all go to -blam!-. Bungie wants to keep a good enviorment for players so that people don't glitch and exploit which is something they should be thanked for and not threatened. Its not there fault you exploited something or glitched its yours mabey people should just play a game like its supposed to be played and not try to find ways around to earn more points then the next person.

Alright fair enough we glitched and gained incredible amounts of credits because we were stupid. So you reset our accouts fair enough once again. But making us keep our commendations is just Stupid. 99% maybe even 100% of people that got reset want to earn there credits back legit this time and your dissalowing us that by keeping our commendations. Thats not fair. We made 1 mistake and you bruttaly hit back and now your dissalowing us the right to earn back fairly. Show me 1 post from the forum saying somone is extremely excited about keeping there commendations so they cant earn fair credits and can be realised for there gamplay style!!!!!! Its quite clear youve closed the door on 15000 of your fans and anyone that says were not "fans" can just Be quiet because we spent $120 on the game before we used the glitch didnt we? Its a simple request to reset all out commendations or give us an option ingame to all banned parties to reset commendations. Meanwhile we have hackers with aimbot and wallhacks running around and bungie focuses on stopping 15000 fans from playing or earning anything fairly. Now i ask you as a faithful fan to please reset our commendations.

Look i'm about as legit as it gets to Lt. colonel status, i have friends that have gone through the reset though, look not for nothing my arguement is THEY made this game, that was the point of the beta, on a different note, is it that big a deal? EVERYONE will eventually be the same damn rank, if they didnt want it in this fashion they should have stuck to arena or Eighty six'd the Commendations, Because let's face it with the camping and the BS the DMR is now, Anyone who has EVER been good at a halo game is saying GFY arena
