Credit Resets
Good evening,
We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.
A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.
As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.
A more comprehensive pass will be occuring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.

[b]Edit 1[/b]: a point of clarification. No bans were handed out tonight for
a) Playing too much Gruntpocalypse (no such thing!)
b) Using the target locator too much (no such thing!)
Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via itentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)
Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.
[b]Edit 2[/b]:
1) If you have lost your Legendary Helmet or any other downloadable offers, you can re-download them via your Download History. We're not sure this is affecting anyone (we haven't reproduced it internally), but just in case it is, give this a try.
2) We won't be resetting Commendations, as we do not feel that the exploit used affected them. It would not be fair to people who did use the exploit but who wish to retain the record of their playstyle, and we cannot differentiate between the two systematically. Sorry.

really bungie? I only did the challenge reset about 5-10 times i only ranked up like once and a half, and i didnt know you could get banned form it because i wouldnt have if i knew. I really wish you guys could ATLEAST put me back to captain. I would never do any boosting again ever. So i would really appreciate it if you would do that for me.(:

ok people, to all of u people who say, "i didnt do it" or "i didnt know" or any other lame excuse are retards. the challenges are meant to be done once, thats y it says challange done and u cant do it again. what would make u think it was ok? u say u didnt know and that it was hard earned. no i have spent hours upon hours of fair game play.and now i getto keep them. so boo-freggin hoo.cry about it all u want u deserve this. u played unfair and then whined over the consequences. and for the guy that "insisted" bungie unbann him thats not going to help. u might as well ask for a million dollers. u didnt prove any evedince. u just insist u be unbanned. Man, I just tried "credit boosting" or whatever it is called on oni base. Heard about it today had no idea why people would do it or what it was, looked up a few videos and then finally attempted it. I cannot understand how someone can sit there and do that for an extended period of time, no fun [i]at all[/i]. On the plus side I did learn how to turn on scoring in campaign, could make my next playthrough more entertaining.

@ferrax I have a question for you but firstly check my stats and commendations. You will see I worked very hard and played alot!!! I will admit I did the glitch but in no way did I know I would get banned. Is there any way we could get our legit hard earned credits, rank, and armor back please? I mean come on bungies made there point but took it way to far. there was no warning. No if you continue to do this you will get banned. There was nothing. Its unfair. This game is awesome but it takes a lot of your time to get the best stuff you know it you made it that way so that was i went to the dark side but you can check i was a legit warrant officer grade 3, you got the numbers just do the maths pleases. If you give everyone there LEGIT credits back you will make everything right. Fix the glitch and all will be well. please reconsider even that 100k of people that made it are part of your world dommination plan dont we? we just screw the things a little but it didnt harm'd anybody u.u PLEASE REPLY

The Auto Hammer has a special way of detecting cheaters. Get that connection checked out though.

But that will be taken away soon anyways[/quote] there are both (and the Rank cap is going to be off soon) the Credit Cap is reset daily, you cannot get more than 100,000 or some less number a day Max. When that is hit, to earn more credits for the day, You MUST buy an item from the armory, then any game you play after will be actually acheieved

Ferrex, In all fairness the majority or my credits were from honest playing. Yes i realize spending most of my time playing halo reach prob wasnt my best choice but a credit reset is kind of harsh. Im not claiming that i didnt try the challenge reset..im claiming that u can check my history and it proves most of my credits were legit...so yes being reset to 0 after having lt. cornel is tough.
