The thing I like most about black armory is forging the weapons.
This is something that I personally enjoy with the forges.
There's a weapon I want and it's not complicated to get, it's not rng based to acquire, and it's something I can grind rolls for.
I kind of wish Destiny as a whole followed this type of system where you go to who you want and complete activities for the weapons you want.
I don't have too many issues with rng and such, but it honestly kills it for me when I can't ever get what I want to drop, let alone with a roll I want.
For example, I want a halfdan-d with some good rolls, but I've only gotten 3 to drop over the entire course of forsaken being out.
I've gotten endless supply of good bone structures and whatnot...but not what I want.
Even if it started off with black armory, I honestly hope that sort of acquisition system for weapons doesn't leave the game as soon as black armory is over, because it gives me the control I want to get the weapons I want...to a degree that I like.
A way they could do it, is in a similar way to black armory's.
Get some kills in strikes (or patrols) using a certain weapon, kill public event bosses/strike bosses, open the chest and boom a toil and trouble.
Something like this could be more beneficial to those who desire more specific weapons rather than having to pray it eventually drops.
The problem then would become the lack of weapons after acquiring the ones you want the way you want...but I think the game in general needs a larger weapon pool anyways.
I don't think it has to happen any time soon, but I would like something like this.
